Hi Gerti,
April 12, 2005
Having cried all the way to Hoedspruit Airport, &
sulked all the way back
to the UK (despite 1st
Class Air-travel!)
, am now back sat at my
desk working with renewed vigour
- just so
I can return to you for
a third time next year.
You
and your team should be very proud of the success of the very first Makalali
Horseback Safari
- the experience was
truly awesome. The scenery was spectacular, and took my breath away at every
turn. The lodges were all first class
- and the friendship and
hospitality shown by Mike & Bernie, Ryan &
Bjorn
made those places extra
special.........but most of all, you, Phillip and your team ensured we took
away memories that we will treasure
for life. Your horses
are indeed the
most beautiful, brave and
responsive
I have ever
ridden, (new
picture of
Yakima
is
now on my wall next to
that of Tenacity) ensuring we had huge fun bush-whacking , galloping along
with Zebra and jumping
trees and logs at full
speed - not to
mention the warthog encounter or the brave way they met the Rhino head on
without flinching a muscle!
Meeting the Rhino bull
at such
close quarters was
incredible, as were the huge hippos ,
Giraffes, Zebras and
countless Gnus
,antelopes and Bateleau
Eagles...... all in a
day's work for you
- but
so amazing for us
greenhorns.
I hope
that you will run this safari in the future, as
I would love to go back
to Makalali again.
It was breathtaking.
It still
holds a very
special place in my heart, so whatever you decide for the future,
I'll
definitely
be back in 2006.
Love and
thanks to you ,
Philip, Trevor, Debbie
and Kirsten for looking after us and entertaining us so well throughout the
trip &
to your fab students for
their hard work back at home. You all make dreams come true.
I wish
you all health and happiness for the rest of the year,
and look forward to
seeing you and your fantastic family of horses in 2006.
God
Bless
Luv Barney
Regards
