Pyramids and the sphinx, the Sahara desert and the green, fertile ribbon of the Nile - this is Egypt, a land with a 5,000-year- old history. Inextricably interwoven with the history of Egypt is the Arabian horse which gave its warriors success in battle and the ability to travel far and fast across this often harsh terrain. Ride one of these purebred Arabians from one extraordinary ancient landmark to the other. Riders are greeted by enthusiastic villagers and you have the opportunity to see the life of the fallaheen at close hand; watch them cultivating their land along the Nile or maybe a group of women gathering by the river for a communal laundry day. Long, fast canters will take you across firm desert floor. Before sunset, you will reach the large camp - sometimes set up right next to one of the world-renowned pyramids, sometimes at the edge of a lush oasis. As the sun sets ever lower and the cooks prepare yet another feast in the kitchen tent, you sit back with a glass of Egyptian red wine and relive the adventures of the day. After a full-course dinner, you can enjoy local music. Exotic tunes lull you to sleep while hearing the gentle stomping of the horses in the desert sand. As it is customary in most Arabian countries, stallions are rarely castrated. You will find yourself riding in a group of mixed stallions and mares. But don't worry, the horses are well trained and there is plenty of room to spread out.

Riding Skills: You should be at least a medium rider, able to ride 4-7 hours each day, often at a trot or gal-lop, in groups of mixed Arabian stallions and mares. English saddle and tack.
