An exciting combination of riding, adventure
activities and beach vacation
Turf and Surf
Getaway
- 4 days on horseback and 3 days at the beach Your trip starts at a location on the Mighty Belize River and central to all of
Belize. You will stay at a ranch with over 120 horses, 80 cattle, many
tropical birds, a few monkeys and a jaguar on the property. Here horses roam free and huge iguanas
laze in the branches above the bamboo. The land is surrounded by
evidence of both the ancient Maya and a historic logging tradition.
Home to the finest Equestrian Center in Belize, we can cater to riders
of all riding levels. We will have instructions for novices and brisk
outings for the more advanced riders. we will give
you something different. You awaken to the shimmering
ethereal glow of dawn materializing through the tropical haze. The well kept horses,
quiet river, lush pastures, gentle breeze, ancient trees laden with
bromeliads, flocks of parrots, flaming sunsets, delicious meals,
friendly people, and exotic surroundings will speak peace into your
soul.
There are miles of trails
often times under the forest canopy. Nice long canters along jungle
trails can be an exhilarating experience.
After four days of fun filled activities we will take you to the airport
for a short flight to San Pedro on the Ambergris Cayes. It is a small
island full of life and quiet beaches. We have pre-reserved a nice 3
star beach hotel in a suite with ocean view. We take care of all airport
transfers and lodging with breakfast ... the rest is up to you. There
are many exciting activities to chose from. The half day snorkeling trip
to Holchan and Shark Ray Alley is a must. It is a $40 excursion that you
will never forget.

Itinerary B=Breakfast L=Lunch
D=Dinner DAY 1 :
We will meet you at the Municipal or International Airport and
transfer you to the lodge. If you arrive early enough you
may choose to visit the Belize Zoo. Upon your arrival you can take a tour of the local sites. (It's a jungle out
there) Oops, time for dinner already! (7:00...ish)
LD DAY 2 :
After breakfast all day Jungle horseback ride. Explore the vast area
of the 200 acre farm with agricultural fields, tree farms, cattle
grazing and horse pastures. Cross small streams, canter on small
jungle paths and swim the horses in the Belize River. BLD
optional: all
day Cave adventure or combo of Cave Tubing and Zip line. DAY 3 :
Today we will have a brisk half day ride through the jungle.
In the afternoon we are off to Roaring River Cave.
We'll ride through the village of Roaring Creek and explore a seldom
visited cave where you'll see ancient artifacts and feel an
exquisite Mayan presence. We'll break at a wonderful swimming hole
so be sure to take your swimming suit. The water's quite clear and
you might want to bring along a snorkel mask too.
In the evening we will take you on a Jungle Night Walk. BLD DAY 4 : All day horseback ride in
the Blue Hole
National Park.
Covering 575 acres, Blue Hole National Park
encompasses this water-filled sink, St. Herman’s Cave, and the
surrounding jungle. (Belize’s other Blue Hole lies in the ocean at
Lighthouse Reef.) Rich in wildlife, Blue Hole National Park harbors
the jaguar, ocelot, tapir, peccary, tamandua, boa constrictor,
fer-de-lance, toucan, crested guan, blue-crowned mot-mot, and
red-legged honeycreeper.
The entire area is a labyrinth of caves where the ancient Maya once
lived and roamed; some of the chambers still show signs of rituals
long past. The pool of the Blue
Hole is an oblong collapsed karst sinkhole 300 feet across in some
places and about 100 feet deep. Water destined for the nearby Sibun
River surfaces briefly here only to disappear once more beneath the
ground. Steps lead down to the swimming area, a pool 25 feet deep or
so. BLD Optional:
After an early breakfast we depart for a day trip to
Guatemala to see the 'Great Dame' better know as the Mayan City of
Tikal. Your English-speaking guide will regale you with tales of the
most spectacular Maya site constructed. It takes 4-5 hours to
explore this ancient city, then we'll return for another great meal.
DAY 5 : Transfer to the airport in
Belize City. Board the airplane to the Ambergris Cayes. Take a taxi
to the pre-arranged hotel (the hotel will pay the driver) and check
into your ocean front suite. In the afternoon we invite you come to
the office to go over the different activities that we can offer you
-- see sample list below.
B DAY 6 and 7 : Take advantage of the
many different options and be active all day or take some time out
and enjoy time on the beach.
We can take you on an all day excursion to the "Blue Whole" for
snorkeling and diving, explore the surrounding islands by motor boat
- maybe try some fishing for Bonefish, or take you out to the reefs
to explore the marine life just 10 minutes from your hotel
(breathtaking). B DAY 8 : Breakfast and departure before noon for your
flight back to Belize City. End of services. B
Jungle Accommodations:
Cabanas with roofs made from jungle bay leaf thatch are
uniquely designed. Crafted by Banana Bank craftsmen with
fine Belizean woods, they are, in themselves works of art.
Each cabana has a solarium bath, a sitting room and two
bedrooms, each with queen and single bed. Four to six family
members, friends or groups traveling together can be easily
accommodated in each cabana as each room has a queen size
bed and a single bed. Carved doors, original oil paintings
and jungle ambiance create a truly memorable surrounding.
The dining room is full of exotic presence. The tone
is set by the soaring thatched roof. Carved banisters, pink
gypsum stonewalls, and rich local hard wood paneling make
this a beautiful place to enjoy. Our meals are served family
style and are widely reported to be some of the best in
Belize. The family atmosphere provides a setting for lively
discussion between guests of different locations and
interest. Menus vary but center around the kind of home
cooking we call "grandma food" although our girls put on
some of the best cuisine found in Belize.
Beach Accommodations Located on the Caribbean shores of Ambergris Caye Belize
and resting gracefully on the finest beach just far enough south of
San Pedro Town for real tranquility. Our Ambergris Caye Resort is a
luxurious haven in one of the most scenic places on earth - San
Pedro, Belize. This hotel consist of one, two, three and four
bedroom suites with full kitchen and living room. The suites are all
furnished with Belize-made Rattan furniture, decorated with ceramic
art and hand woven tapestries from the Yucatan. There are two
freshwater swimming pools at the hotel.
How to get there ....
Two local airlines Tropic Air and Maya Island Air both fly between
the mainland and the Cayes every hour of the day.
While there:
The streets are sandy and unpaved so be sure to leave your fancy
clothes and high heel shoes at home. The best and easiest way of
transportation is one of the Golf Carts that you can rent on an
hourly or daily basis. There are no traffic lights, no freeways or
highways. Enjoy touring the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye on a
comfortable and dependable Golf Cart.
