Our Tours In Dominican Republic Dominican Republic

Before the arrival of Christopher Columbus on December 5, 1492 the island was inhabited by Taino Indians. The colonial history of the country is marked by Spanish and French cultures. Slaves brought in elements of Black African cultures to complete the national identity. In 1822 the country was invaded by Haitian troops. This domination lasted 22 years until on February 27, 1844 independence was proclaimed by Juan Pablo Duarte and his followers. It was lost again in 1861 with the annexation to Spain and regained in August 1863.
Although known for its white sandy beaches, towering palm trees and luxurious resorts, the Domincan Republic has much more to offer in terms of history, culture and adventure tourism. Explore the colonial architecture, live and local music, and patriotic sports energy of the country. Don't forget to check out the Caribbean vistas - best seen on horseback!
