You are already traveling in Torres del Paine
and want to relax for a few days at a working estancia with of horseback riding,
hiking, Park excursions while accompanied by a bilingual guide - this is the
perfect getaway for you. Estancia Tercera Barranca offers a comfortable guest
house located in its own garden adjacent to the owners’/workers’ house. The estancia
is situated in a remote setting east of Laguna Azul. Power is generator driven,
hot water is plentiful (showers and baths available), Central heating and wood
burning stoves heat the house and there is a fantastic fireplace in the gallery
(large living area) with lots of cozy seating and double height windows to take
full advantage of the fantastic views of the Towers to the west. The estancia staff will take excellent care of you. Organic meat and produce,
home baked breads and pastries, fresh jams and preserves made with fruit from
the garden and lots of tasty Chilean cooking. The estancia also stocks a
selection of reasonably priced wine and beer and pisco sours are a specialty!
Traditional gaucho barbeques under the stars are arranged on a regular basis.

Activities Living at the estancia is one of our guides who can advise you on activities in
the area. For non-riders,
daily excursions into the Park for hiking or sightseeing will be available
(included in the cost). Fishing, bird watching and nature walks are also
available.
Horseback For riders, there is a huge choice of trails which can be enjoyed on one of the
estancia’s delightful Criollo horses. Riding will be in the company of a
Chilean baqueano, and/or a bilingual leader. You can
ride to Laguna Amarga, Laguna Azul, Lago Paine the Zamora Falls or another
nearby estancia. There is also a trail that takes us to an area frequented by
wild horses. With a bit of notice we can arrange camping pack trips to Dickson
Valley, La Cumbre and Las Chinas Valleys, Laguna Verde or out towards the
Argentine border. |
