3 days on the Colorado River through Cataract Canyon by Motorized J-Rig Raft

Canyonlands National Park

Trip Description:

Rafting through Canyonlands National Park, the river journey through Cataract Canyon balances the relaxation of serene floating with over 20 miles of fast-moving rapids. During high water (May through June) experience the biggest and most challenging whitewater in the U.S. In July the river drops and the rapids become more moderate.
There is time for hiking under sculpted sandstone spires and visiting ancient Anasazi petroglyphs and granaries. There are beautiful beach camps and plenty of time to do all the great hikes and numerous camp activities. Dinner is served on the beach where you can enjoy an incredible sunset.
The Colorado River flows purposefully toward its confluence with the Green River, where it doubles in force and becomes the “cataract,” home of the world-famous “Big Drops” rapids. There is time to hike and explore enjoying the grandeur of the National Park (without the crowds).
Traveling by J-rig provides a stable and comfortable rafting experience. It is a larger raft, carries a few more amenities and is maneuvered by a quiet outboard motor. The exclusive design keeps passengers high and dry in the rapids. There is room for up to eight people per boat. More room, more comfort, more fun. It is the best balance for time sensitive people who want to enjoy the remote canyon wilderness.
Adventure continues with a scenic airflight (suggested option) back to Moab over Canyonlands.
