Transfer Option:

DAY 1: (SANTIAGO) - EASTER ISLAND
Reception at Rapa Nui airport. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2:  After breakfast, meeting at the hotel and start of the tour. We visit the village of Hanga Roa, its market, its port, the church and the museum.  Then, we reach the sea to arrive at the beautiful site of Tahai. Aftewards, we travel (approx 4 hours) along the coast visiting caves, tepahus, Ahus and Petroglyphs.We end our day at the Ahu Akivi site. (CB,L,D)

DAY 3:  After a good morning to the 7 moais, we start our ride towards the Rano Aroi and Teravaka (507m), highest point of the island, from where we have a panoramic view of the whole island. We descend on the northeast coast, wild and deserted, where we can observe many petroglyphs, caves and Ahus. We pass the crater of Hanga Oteo before arriving at the magnificent Anakena site, a beautiful white sand beach, dominated by the Ahu Nau Nau.  Hiking time: approx 6 hours. (CB, L, D)

DAY 4:  After a bath (if possible) we walk along the coast visiting Ovahe beach and the sites of Te Pito Kura and Hekii, next to the bay La Perouse. We observe the petroglyphs of papa vaka before crossing the plain at the foot of Poike to reach the volcano Rano Raraku. We first discover the inside of the crater with its lake. Walk through the statues to reach a point from where we have a fantastic view over the bay of Hanga-Nui. Then we leave the crater to see the Moais outside - almost 400 statues in various stages of manufacturing have remained forever on this site and show the exceptional activity of these people. Hiking time: approx 4 hours. (CB,L,D)

DAY 5:  We do not change the camp and leave in the direction of the volcanoe Poike (short transfer). Small climb of Mount Vai a Heva where we can see a huge figure, then down to the cliffs to reach the cave of the virgins where young girls were confined in order to keep their skin white, a symbol of purity. Observations of the petroglyphs in the cave. Visit to the small ahu moai of trachyte, known to be the smallest on the island. We finish our tour at haka-rava. From far away, we can already see the site of Tongariki, the biggest and most impressive site of the island, which we are approaching to the foot of the 15 huge statues.  On return to the camp we will follow a piece of the path where the statues were transported to their sites. Camp. Hiking time approx 4.5 hours. (CB,L,D)

DAY 6:  Transfer to Rano Kau. Just a few minutes later we are on the edge of the impressive Rano Kau crater (1600m in diameter), a mosaic of small lakes and natural flora reserve. We see the 3 little islands (Motu Nui, Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao). Walk along the border of the crater in order to reach the south-west with the impressive Orongo site. In that place, about 150 years ago, they started with the bird man culture, a long and mysterious drama which is celebrated each year in order to name the political boss of the island. Visit of numerous petroglyphs immortalising the bird man and the supreme God Make Make. Later, we descend to Hanga Roa with a stop at the Ana Ka Tangata cave (rock paintings), the port of Hanga Piko and its Ahu. Return to Hangaroa. Hiking time: approx 3.5 hours (CB,L)

DAY 7:  After breakfast transfer to the airport.  (CB)

Located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, south of the tropic of Capricorn, Easter Island features a sub-tropical climate influenced by winds and ocean currents, and an annual average temperature of 20°Celsius.

In summer, the maximum temperature may reach 28°Celsius and the minimum may fall to 15°C. February is the hottest month, whereas in winter (June to August), temperatures range between 14°C and 22°C. 

September is the driest month. The weather here is windy most of the time with southeast trade winds dominating the weather conditions from October to April. The island is prone to become the playground of environmental hazards like tsunami (tidal waves) and drought.

On the island, also called "Rapa Nui Island", rain falls steadily throughout the year, although showers are only sporadic and last a short time. May is the month with the heaviest rainfall.

Passport valid for at least six months required by nationals referred to in the chart.

Passports issued to children must contain a photo and state the nationality.

Visas
Not required by all nationals referred to in the chart above for stays of up to 90 days except the following:
(a) 1. nationals of Greece for up to 60 days and nationals of Romania for up to 30 days.
(b) transit passengers continuing their journey on the same or first connecting aircraft provided holding required travel documents for onward destination and not leaving the airport transit lounge.

2. Nationals of Australia, Canada and the USA entering Chile for touristic purposes will be charged a processing fee payable on arrival and in cash only. For nationals of  Australia, the fee is US$56; for nationals of Canada, the fee is US$132; and for nationals of the USA, the fee is US$100 .
