Local Events

The nearby town of Gabrovo, Bulgaria hosts an annual Humour and Satire Festival, this year it falls on May 16th, 2009.  Gabrovo is famous for its humour tranditions and appreciation, including the Museum of Humour.  The festival runs all afternoon, and includes a parade down the main street with people dressed in funny or folk costumes, and flatcars carrying giant, humourous figures of people.  Music and dancing continues into the evening.

The Museum complements this event with a special exhibition during this week.

If you are interested in attending this event we can incorporate it into the May 9-16th ride.  The trip would be extended to May 17th, allowing May 16th to be spent in Gabrovo.  Transportation, extra night's accommodation and extra day riding included.  Additional cost.  Please contact Hidden Trails if you are interested in this extension.
