Although attractions are abundent, a very basic infrastructure prevents the tourist trade from growing into a massive tourism industry. Thus, today's traveler feels a sense of authenticity in their travel experience in Honduras. Geographically speaking, Honduras is one of the gateways to the ancient Mayan World and the region known as Mesoamerica.
There are numerous activities to take part in. Hike to mysterious cloud forests nestled high in mountains. Navigate on clear jungle river rapids, coastal lagoons, and narrow wetland canals. Contemplate Honduras' pristine landscapes. Visit the national parks and protected areas, and discover the incredible biological diversity of tropical nature, exotic animals inhabiting vast rain forests containing hundreds of bird species.

Day 1 – Arrival San Pedro Sula – Transfer to Copan (D)
You will be met at the airport and transferred by road to Copán. En route learn about Mayan trade routes, social and political organization, and theories on their mysterious demise. We will enjoy the beautiful countryside as we travel to the picturesque village of Copán. Take the rest of the afternoon at leisure to enjoy the charming atmosphere of this picturesque town. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight Copan Ruins.
Day 2 –Copan (B)
Morning visit to the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán Ruins, which consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. In the afternoon, we will be introduced to our horses, gear, and guide, and have a chance to take a short ride along the Copan River with good chances for cantering and galloping. Overnight Copan.
Day 3 – Copan (B)
Morning transfer to the Lake Yojoa. The region around the lake is an area containing one of the richest avifauna in Central America, with more than 350 species of birds. We will explore the lake and its surrounding natural wonders. Our lodging will be in a lake front Hotel, host of an Equinotherapy Center. The afternoon riding will take us exploring the area and nearby rural towns.
Day 4 - Copan – Lake Yoja (B)
Morning transfer to the town of Trinidad, Santa Barbara. The region around this town is famous for coffee growing, as well as for the hat and basket making out of the local Junco palm. Our lodging will be in a Hacienda, and chances to interact with local farm life are possible. The afternoon riding will take us exploring the area and nearby rural towns.
Day 5 – Lake Yoja (B)
Morning ride to Los Naranjos Archaeological Site. Our trail takes us through rural towns into the site of an ancient culture, buried amongst nature.
Day 6 – Lake Yoja to Tela (B)
After breakfast, we go riding through the Hacienda’s trails. In the afternoon, we transfer to the Honduran Caribbean coast. (private guide bids farewell) Arrival and overnight in Tela
Day 7 - Tela (B)
Your local guide will meet you at the Hotel after breakfast. Enjoy riding through the Caribbean coast along the Bahia de Tela to the Garifuna community of Miami. This community is located within a protected area of Los Micos Lagoon, the second largest of the country. The Mangrove around the lagoon is home to numerous species of birds and other inhabitants, including howler and white-faced monkeys – “Micos” as they are called in Spanish. Enjoy the charm of this tropical natural spot before ride back to Tela. returning to Tela . Overnight Tela
Day 8 – Tela – San Pedro Sula (B)
Morning to the San Pedro Sula airport in time for your connecting departure flight. End of services.

The northern Caribbean area and the southern coastal plain have a wet, tropical climate, but the interior is drier and cooler. Temperature varies with altitude. The coastal lowlands average 31°C (88°F); from 300 to 760 m (1,000 to 2,500 ft) above sea level the average is 29°C (84°F); and above 760 m (2,500 ft) the average temperature is 23°C (73°F). There are two seasons: a rainy period, from May through October, and a dry season, from November through April. Average annual rainfall varies from over 240 cm (95 in) along the northern coast to about 84 cm (33 in) around Tegucigalpa in the south.

Honduras is party to the Central America Border Control Agreement (CA-4). Under the terms of this agreement, tourists may travel within any of the CA-4 countries (Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) for a period of up to 90 days, without completing entry and exit formalities at border immigration checkpoints. This period begins at the first point of entry in to any of the CA-4 countries. Fines are applied for travellers who exceed this 90-day limit, although a request for a 30-day extension can be made before the 90 days limit expires.
