South Chilcotin Expedition Pack Trip

South Chilcotin Expedition Pack Trip
British Columbia Canada

Wind your way past the glacier dotted peaks that vault defiantly into the crystal blue sky, descending into meadows of wild alpine flowers, bursting with color from June to September. Along the way you may spot some of the local inhabitants: bears, (black or grizzly), moose, marmots, deer, wolves, mountain goats, California Big Horn Sheep or a Kittiwampus. Bring your camera to capture it all!

You will spend your first night in a luxury wilderness lodge on Tyaughton Lake, one of the largest log lodges in Canada. Then you will ride Western Style on horseback to  remote backcountry camps each day, while packhorses carry your gear and our friendly camp hosts provide you with a hearty meal each night. On your last day you will ride back to the resort and stay at the lodge to relax in the spa and refuel in the restaurant before departing.

Not only will you enjoy relaxing and visiting at our various base camp locations in the wilderness, but we will go even further into the back country were few people roam and show you a beauty reserved for only the truly adventurous at heart. While in the back country, accommodation will be provided in tents or rustic cabins pending on the camp of the night and you will sleep comfortably on our provided sleeping pads. Waking each morning to a roaring campfire and the smell of cowboy coffee, and a hearty full breakfast cannot be equaled when it comes to feeling the freedom of your daily life's stresses. Here, there will be numerous stunning photo opportunities on this trip, to permanently capture your memories while on a trip of a lifetime. This pack trip will take you above the tree line and into the picturesque wildflower carpeted alpine meadows. We will have rowboats at your disposal if you are inclined to fish for the local rainbows and when the sun casts long shadows over the lake and the fresh caught trout are baked over the campfire, you will feel a no doubt feel you are in a little piece of heaven.  We will sit around a the bright dancing flames of a campfire at night, flickering in the breeze scented of alpine flowers and listen to the lonely cry of a timber wolf out there in the night!

Our guides make sure that the history in the area enriches each and every tour and have honed their skills in providing a vacation of a lifetime. Horses and guests are skillfully matched and the safety standards are ranked top in the industry. You'll be intrigued by their intimate knowledge of the region and the stories they have to share.  While they take care of all the details, you can enjoy your journey to the fullest - they provide full catering with tasty home-cooked meals and we set up camp for you each day, be it a rustic log cabin or a portable spike camp.
