Itinerary:
Sunday, Day 1: Hacienda Don Tito
Pick up at San Jose hotel and drive the short distance to Orotina to Hacienda Don Tito. Here they breed the famous Costa Rican Paso Horses, that are so loved by the Tico riders. Your guide will show you how they dance and give you the opportunity to ride one of these magnificent horses. After the ride through the hacienda lunch will be served. Continue on to Jaco Beach. Overnight Hotel South Beach   4 hours of riding  (L)

Monday, Day 2: El Pueblo

Follow the forest back roads with wide safe tracks to reveal stunning vistas, and spectacular views of the river. Discover the local village of Montalimar, and visit the beautiful butterfly garden and farm of Johnny Quiros. After checking out the old Church and Bull ring, ride back to La Quina alongside the pristine Rio Turrabalita. An amazing, unforgettable ride on responsive and fit horses . 4-5 hours riding...Overnight South beach Hotel (B)

Tuesday, Day 3: Jungle Hacienda

Ride through the stunning pristine primary and secondary rain forest with incredible vistas, here is the real Costa Rica. Surrounded by amazing flora and fauna, arrive at Hacienda La Quina. Owned by the same family since 1830, see a working farm that is proud of it roots and leaders in ecological farming. Stop by for a refreshing juice at the springs before meandering through the forests towards home. A perfect combination of riding, nature, education and fun. A completely unique experience that won't leave you feeling sore. Overnight South Beach Hotel  3 hours of riding (B)

Wednesday, Day 4: The Tropical Beach Ride

Nothing compares to riding a horse along the deserted tropical pacific coast Drift along side the lapping water and enjoy the sea breezes. Ride early in the morning and spot the flocks of scarlet macaws that make their home in the surrounding almond trees. Unforgettable. 2.5 hours including fresh fruit and drinks. Afternoon transfer to Manuel Antonio. Overnight Villas Lirio (B)

Thursday, Day 5: Finca Valmey Waterfall

Leaving from the stables where we are matched up with the perfect horse, we enter into the forest, riding to the river. At one point we leave the horses and hike a short distance to get to the waterfalls,which is located on part of the Valmy property. One can bathe in the lagoon and waterfall, or simply sit and rest while listening to the relaxing sounds of the waterfall as it cascades into the small lagoon below. On the return trip, the horses take you around the river through lush vegetation. Lunch is served back at the ranch. 3 plus hours riding... Overnight Hotel Villas Lirio or similar (BL)

Friday, Day 6: Piedras Negras Ride

After breakfast transfer via the very scenic route of Puriscal to the area of El Rodeo here we ride through incredible forest , next to the University of Peace to Piedras Negras. The horses love the cool river where they can splash around and rest. Troupes of monkeys often pass through these beautiful trails. Lunch at the ranch Return back to San Jose where itinerary ends. 4 hours of riding. (BL)

ABeginner
Beginner A rider who has limited experience, is unable to post the trot and does not canter.
BNovice
Novice A rider who is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable and in control at the walk, moderate length posting trots, and short canters.
CIntermediate
Intermediate A rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
D Strong Intermediate
Strong Intermediate An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.
EAdvanced
All of the above, plus an independent seat, soft hands, and capable of handlinga spirited horse in open country.
Lodging: Standard
