Hacienda Sepulveda has been a working ranch for 360 years. The present owners, the Serranos, have had the property for three generations, using the house as a weekend getaway from their home in Leon, a half-hour away. Now guests of the 23-room hotel quickly find themselves feeling at home, assuming that home is filled with exquisite antiques. One of the hacienda’s greatest attributes is its proximity to some of Mexico’s most beautiful colonial cities — you will find daytrips to Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende and Querretero are quite doable, and the international airport at Leon-Bajio is a mere 30-45 minutes away. It’s a three-hour drive north to Zacatecas, the original silver city, and just under three hours to Guadalajara, Mexico’s second largest city, which is the mother lode for interior decorators. The toll freeways are excellent, and the drive is easy. But it’s tempting never to leave the hacienda.

Each room in the hacienda has its own personality, and all have either a fireplace or antique wood-burning stove for those nippy winter nights. Many of the rooms have arched brick ceilings, and each has its own unique chandelier. Since a number of the rooms have separate full beds, you should specify if you prefer a twin or king-sized beds. But whatever you choose, you will enjoy elaborately carved furniture and fantastic details.

This 4-star boutique hotel and hacienda was built in 1684 and has recently been refurnished to cater to the modern world with eleven spacious suites, you can be part of a colonial version of Mexico with all the commodities of home! Each of the lavishly furnished suites offers an individual decorating style with unique natural scenery. There is nothing better than the pool and spa after a day in the saddle; holistic massage, steam room, Jacuzzi and sauna.
Traditional Mexican gourmet cuisine is offered at the Mamalena Restaurant.

Hacienda Sepulveda has been restored to serve like a luxurious Boutique Hotel. There are 23 rooms (1 Grand Master Suite, 11 wide master suites and 11 comfortable suites).

The riding country is varied and the pace is adjusted accordingly. On 4 of the 6 riding days the riders have good opportunities for some nice controlled canters, the other 2 days you ride through canyons and rough country with little or no opportunities for faster paced riding - but it is spectacular.
