Mallorca/Menorca Spain
Dedicated to the world of horses, this beautiful estate has become a compelling visit for the horse enthusiast and admirer of the peaceful Mallorcan countryside. Surrounded by the idyllic natural beauty of the Levante hills, the finca offers the natural terrain and luxury embellishments to make this your best riding holiday. This trip is perfectly suited for a good rider who is looking for a mixture of thrilling rides and relaxation. We ride at all paces across the island, so prepare yourself for some memorable gallops! On horseback, we will visit 3 different monasteries on the island: the monastery of Saint Salvador, the monastery of Consolació, and the monastery of Montission. We will admire the beauty of these well-preserved monasteries and learn a thing or two about their history. We give ourselves and the horses a break for one day to explore Palma or Es Trenc beach. In March, April, October, and November only, you'll get to visit the spa ride on Es Trenc beach and cross an important items off your bucket list. During the other months, you'll get to choose between lessons on our Andalusian horses or an excursion. You can always add on extra trails or lessons if you want more time in the saddle!

The hotel, which has become the heart of the estate, has 12 comfortable private rooms and a clubhouse (with a bar, restaurant, swimming pool, terraces and small spa facility). It is built in the traditional Spanish style: a country home decorated in a functional yet rustic way with all the necessary facilities for a relaxing vacation. Food is delicious and high quality. Come explore with us on this beautiful island!

Accomodation

Accommodations

This is a stationary ride, so you will be staying in the same location during the trip.

Description
The finca started in 1993 as a stud farm. It was built as a low-rise building in order to blend harmoniously into the lowland environment and with the historic farmhouse construction, which is over 50 years old. Our buildings are surrounded by gardens of native vegetation thus reducing our impact on the surrounding landscape. Almost all landscaping on the premises is carried out using indigenous species. This approach not only promotes and preserves the natural flora but also minimises water usage.
Year after year we have added amenities and improved the facilities. Today we have a country hotel, a riding school with more than 100 horses, a restaurant where we highlight our own Dexter meat and wine, and a swimming pool and spa.
The on-site spa offers a range of treatments to riders and is a great way to relax at the end of the day. Bikes are available onsite for rental for an added fee.
The finca is about 20 minute drive away from the beach (rental car needed). Our purpose is to enhance an active, high-quality tourism on our island in a natural and friendly environment.
We offer accommodations in fully refurbished rooms. Our values: authenticity, quality, sustainability and family.

Meals

The restaurant serves Mediterranean food and local dishes.
We cultivate a variety of fresh local produce – seasonal fruits and vegetables, wine, and Dexter beef – which we then serve in our restaurant. We care about the health of our customers and of our land, cultivating without any chemical additives and prioritising quality over quantity. Any raw products or materials we cannot produce are purchased, with priority given to other local produces in order to reduce CO2 emissions owing to transport and supporting local, quality agriculture and livestock.

During the summer, meals are served on the terrace and we have barbecues in the garden.

Dietary Restrictions

We can cater to all dietary restrictions if given prior notice.

This trip includes and can accommodate special dietary requests.

Riding

May to September: 5.5 days riding with a 1-hour trail, a 1-hour lesson, 3 all day trail rides (about 6 hours long), 1 day to choose between dressage, jumping or trail and 1 day to choose between the beach or Palma city.

Rest of the year: 5.5 days riding with a 1-hour trail, a 1-hour lesson, 3 all day trail rides (about 6 hours long), 1 day to choose between all day trail ride or beach ride and 1 day to choose between the beach or Palma city.

Horses
The PRE breeding program was created in 1981. Our stockbreeding bases originated in the offspring of two horses (Ischia G. and Apocalipsis). Later on, we have bred our horses with different stallions. Nowadays, we have over 100 horses.
We also breed and tame Baskhir Curly Horses, the only hypoallergenic horses. The character of the Curly is soft, friendly and confident. Its tranquility and serenity hide a living intelligence and an exceptional strength.

Facilities
The facilities include a walker (for up to 4 horses), 42 stalls and boxes, 1 paddock, 12 pens, 1 covered arena and 2 outdoor arenas (50m x 70m and 20m x 40m).

Guides & Instructors
Our instructors and guides are all very professionals with many years of experience. Their goal is that you learn in an intuitive way and, above all, that you enjoy the experience.

Description of Es Trenc Beach Ride (only available in November)
After breakfast, we get ready to start our adventure. We leave with a mini bus to Sa Rapita (Campos). 20 minutes by car from our finca.
Sa Rapita was a small fishermen village and is probably the closest town to one of Mallorca’s best beaches and Natural park. With over 3-kilometres of fine white sand, this area has been compared to the Caribbean because of its lush vegetation and crystal clear blue waters.
Once the horses have been tacked in Sa Rapita, we will ride to the natural beach of Es Trenc. This beach stretches from Sa Rapita along the coastal strip to the larger town of ‘Colonia Sant Jordi’. After some trots and gallops, we reach a small village called ‘Ses Covetes’. Riding through this village we will arrive to Es Trenc natural park and beach. We hear the sound of the sea beyond the golden sand, marvel at the sand dunes and swallows flying above us on the blue sky.
Once leaving the beach, we ride through a bush to reach a path that will take us to the salt mountains, where we enjoy fantastic views of the local flora and fauna.
The extraordinary environmental value of this natural area is enshrined in various protection measures, among them Natural Area of Special Interest (ANEI), Special Conservation Zone, and Special Bird Protection Zone. It also forms part of the EU Natura 2000 network.
In the ‘Salobrar’ (set of constructed ponds linked to the sea by a channel of seawater), close to Es Trenc beach, is dedicated to the extraction of salt. This large natural area (330 hectares) is populated by over 170 species of birds, as well as numerous traditional plants. Along the trail we will see several birds, flamingos, frogs and a variety of plants and flowers.
Underneath shady trees, our picnic is waiting for us. Enjoy a typical lunch with a country view and get to know some curiosities of Mallorca explained by our guide.
After lunch, we start our ride back to the departing point where we will find the mini bus. Once back at the finca, we will have time to relax and have dinner.
Riding: approximately 4 hours

For Mallorca Monasteries Ride (IT-SPMEN01):

We have been working over these past months to improve our facilities and ensure that they are ready for you to enjoy when we reopen. In addition, our staff has also been trained on how to maintain the new health and safety standards and in doing so offer you a safe and enjoyable horseback vacation.
Guests and visitors are asked to bring and utilise masks upon their arrival in Mallorca. These masks are necessary to be able to enjoy certain common areas in Mallorca, such as those used to prepare horses before beginning a class or trail.
In exceptional circumstances, masks (disposable surgical) may be purchased from our on-premise shop.

For ease of understanding, we have specified the health and safety practices with respect to the different zones and facilities on the property. These are as follows:
In the hotel and restaurant:

  • Training of personnel.
  • Installation of a protective screen in the reception office.
  • Continual use of protective masks and hydroalcoholic hand-sanitiser by our staff.
  • Provision of hydroalcoholic hand-sanitiser in various locations (reception, restaurant, etc.).
  • The restriction of the number of people in the reception area to a maximum of 2.

  • A temperature check for all staff members using the same method each day at the beginning of their shift.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting, in accordance to the public health standards associated with COVID-19, in rooms as well as common areas.
  • The reduction of decorative ornaments and informative brochures in rooms.
  • The removal of amenities, extra blankets and cushions which would otherwise normally be stored in the rooms. These must instead be requested at the reception desk.
  • The substitution of the breakfast buffet for an a la carta breakfast served on our terrace.
  • The implementation of a QR-code with which clients can access our menu on their personal devices. For those clients with half board or full board we will continue to use the standard method of filling the dinner menu at breakfast.
  • Tables in both the restaurant and outdoor terrace being laid out with a separation of 2 metres. We also prioritise the use of the terrace so as to provide the most open space possible.
  • Aeration of the reception office, bar, and restaurant a minimum of 3 times per day.
  • Clients wishing to make use of our laundry service must deposit their clothing in a sealed bag. The clothes item will them be washed at more than 60°C and without being mixed with items from other clients or the hotel. They will then be returned in a sealed bag.
  • The spa facility remains closed until the fall of 2020. Massage services are still open but it must be organised by appointment and subject to availability.
  • The pool is cleaned and disinfected daily as per the latest available standards.
  • Payments may be made using Visa and MasterCard.

In the riding school:

  • Classes are scheduled with a 20 minute break in between with which to disinfect the materials used.
  • Tack rooms and other common areas may only be accessed while using a mask and respecting social distancing.
  • Clients may only prepare and tack a horse while using a mask. Masks are not necessary during the riding lesson itself.
  • All of our riding instructors make use of masks.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting in the bathrooms and changing rooms is carried out using the latest COVID-19 preventative standards.
  • Soap and hydroalcoholic hand-sanitiser dispensers are provided for use in the tack rooms.
  • Classes will not contain more than 5 people.
  • Whenever possible, a safety distance of 2 metres will be maintained between horses while they are being groomed.
  • All riders who need to borrow a helmet or boots must ask the riding instructor for these items so that they may be properly disinfected following their use.

Seasons
The beautiful island of Mallorca boasts an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. Mallorca is typically Mediterranean with hot, dry summers in the high 20°s (80°Fs) and mild winters, with the temperatures roughly half that of summer. The sea regulates extreme temperatures and pleasant sea breezes also keep hot days from becoming too unpleasant.
