Enjoyed most: The horses were great fun, and certainly better than I was expecting. The scenery was terrific too.

Comments: Our hosts were the right balance of being friendly and helpful while also being laid back and letting us choose what we wanted to do. I can't wait to try out other Hidden Trails holidays.

Bothered you: Not enough detail prior to departure i.e. full kitchenette available, travelling time, ranch facilities - but it was better than anticipated.

This trip was so enjoyable and the host Tonya made it just that much better.  Her horses are well behaved and we had such great rides.

The Ozarks are beautiful, especially in the Fall. The horses were great. I loved the liesurly pace of the rides, but we could get up and canter/lope in the open spaces.

I had hoped that we would really experience true trail riding, and not just "nose to tail" riding that you get with "touristy" rides.  And that's what we got - true trail riding.

This is exactly what we wanted.  Not a "nose to tail" trail ride, but the opportunity to really explore the area on horseback.  The Foxtrotters are amazing and so sure-footed, especially on the rocky areas in the Ozarks.  They are also such smooth trotters - truly a pleasure to ride.  Tanya is a great host and horse woman.  Byt the end of the trip we felt we had a new friend, instead of just a "guide."  We will definitelyl go back!!

The exceptional standard of the Missouri Foxtrotters. The frienship, hospitality and kindness of Tanya the host. Great rides. My partner had hardly ridden before and he was a converted horse fan at once!

I had thought there would be other people staying on the same trip, I had no preference one way or the other, and had a fabulous time. But for some future clients it might be worth clarifying this.

We felt at home at the ranch.  Tanya and her family were wonderful and we really enjoyed our mother daughter trip.

Comments: Our host Tanya was very personable and friendly. I think the host can make or break a trip like this, and Tanya definetely made it enjoyable. I can't wait to come back next year.  The trip exceeded expectations by a long shot, didn't know what to expect, but was very happy.

Enjoyed the most: Tanya and her family - she truly is the horse whisperer. Her horses are the best I have ever ridden. She was a pleasure to be with since she and I rode alone most of the time I received extra attention and lessons.

Bothered you: Nothing, everything was awesome.

Enjoyed the most: I really appreciated Tanya's flexibility on my arrival and departure, and the ability to be able to ride both days. Being from flat Minnesota I loved having some topography. Tanya's local friends were quite colorful, and so welcoming to us guests. The ranch was very accessible to me and minimized travel time. I enjoyed the opportunity to ride other gaited horses. I came home to enjoy my own that much more! Ranch property, and the neighbors' property, offered varied and interesting terrain. Roy's haywagon ride was a very relaxing interlude. In spite of the damage left in the area by Hurricane Ike, I enjoy having to deal with trail obstacles so that actually enhanced my enjoyment. Tanya has also expressed interest in incorporating other area opportunities to her guests like fishing, kayaking etc. I think that would be of interest to my husband who does not ride much, and to some of my friends in similar situations.

Bothered you: While many people would thrive on the opportunity to live in close quarters with the hosts, I value my privacy and was uncomfortable being in such close quarters. However, I appreciated Tanya allowing me to move to the guest cabin when the other guests had departed. Also, I have tried synthetic saddles in the past and I always end up with saddle sores. This happened again since the ranch has mostly synthetics. However, after the other guests left, I was able to switch to an all leather saddle and it was a lot more comfortable.

Comments:  I was mostly looking for a relaxing respite on short notice and with short travel.  Those expectations were met nicely. The hosts also provided delightful weather for my stay!

Enjoyed the most: The horses were great. The riding was as much or as little as we wanted. Tanya worked very hard to accomodate us.

Bothered you: There was nothing else to do on the ranch except riding.We had to leave the place every day and find something else to do after the riding was done, however wed did find very fun things nearby - tubing, caving, etc!

Comments: Cabin was very clean, but a little more rustic than anticipated. Tanya was a great host tried very hard.

Enjoyed the most: Lots of ride time on excellent gaited mounts.

Comments: The best time ever!  Roy and Tanya are very hard working, down to Earth folks. They are very friendly and accomodating. Relaxing place to be.

Enjoyed the most: The relaxed atmosphere and the ability to ride as long as we wanted and the care of our hosts to be accommodating to what we wanted to do or see on our ride.

Bothered you: Not having at least one more day there.

Comments: The ranch was very beautiful with lots of trails.  Tanya and Roy were fantastic hosts and we felt just like a part of the family.  The horses were great--all with good manners and easy to handle.  You never know what you will be getting into on a trip like this so it actually exceeded our expectations and we look forward to going back again.

Enjoyed the most: The ranch folks, their happy dogs, the care given to the horses and the overall happiness of everyone there. It really is a haven away from busy city life. Tanya did anything we wanted to do to make our trip the most memorable and exciting.

Bothered you: I had to come home to my normal life.

Comments: Roy and Tonya and their family/friends were wonderful people to meet and to share my first ranch vacation with. I wouldn't change a single moment, laugh, or memory I came away with. This is a must see/do vacation for anyone looking for something new and special.  The whole trip was more perfect then I could have imagined.  The accomodations were very nice and comfortable.  The staff was very flexible and eager to make us happy.
