Transfer Option:

Day 1: Meeting in Budapest and group transfer (approx. 1 hr.) to the stud farm of our partner. During the stud inspection you get a first impression of the noble Kisbèr horses. János Lóska breeds the “Hungarian jewels” since 1978. In the next days you can experience yourselves the numerous qualities of these versatile and reliable riding horses. Dinner and overnight accommodations are at the farm.

Day 2: On today’s day ride you can get acquainted with “your horse”. Discover the varied environment with wonderful forests, meadows and fields. At noon there is a picnic along the way. Dinner and overnight accommodations are again at the farm.

Day 3: Today’s ride leads us to Hollókö. Hollókõ is secluded among the ridges of the Cserhát Mountains. It has remarkably preserved its medieval structure. The centre is a living museum village. It was the first village to be included by UNESCO on the World Heritage List of protected heritage sites. Exhibitions include the Post Museum, the Weaving House, the House of Crafts and the Village Museum. The 13th century castle on the hill next to the village offers a wonderful panoramic view. Here, in the northern part of the Hungarian mountain region, live the Palozen, a group of peoples with their own customs, traditions and colorful gowns. Day 4: Today you ride to Vizslás. In the evening you drive to Bükkszék, where you can relax in the thermal bath. The so-called Salvus Heilwasser gushes from the earth with 22-35°C. Dinner and overnight accommodations in Bükkszék.

Day 5: After the breakfast you start in the direction of Sirok. Forest trails and meadows invite to fast gallops. At noon we enjoy a picnic. In the evening you reach the village Sirok with its 14^th century castle on the hill (in ruins). Dinner and overnight accommodations in Bükkszék.

Day 6: Today's ride leads you to Bekölce at the base of the wild and romantic Bükk Mountains (Hills). The mountains were named after its immense beech forests (bükk = “beech”). The horses remain at the equestrian farm while you drive to Szilvásvárad in the late afternoon. The old-venerable stud farm breeds the world-famous Lipizzaner. After a short tour you have dinner at the stud farm. Overnight accommodations in Bekölce.

Day 7: The end of your riding route moves closer - you reach Eger in the evening. Eger, the thousand-year-old Episcopal seat, is one of the most beautiful Baroque towns in the country. With an illustrious historical past and a valuable heritage of monuments and buildings, Eger is also known as the `Town of Patriotism`. In 1552, István Dobó, the castle commander, held out for over a month with his tiny company against the Turkish troops. This was a frontier castle during the Turkish era. The Castle contains the István Dobó Castle Museum which displays the history of the town. Széchenyi Street, the town's pedestrian street, has many restaurants, brasseries and terraced confectioneries. Eger is also the town of wine. The excellent red and white wines of the famous historic wine district are sold in cellars which are hundreds of years old. You can also taste the world-famous Bikavér (Bull's Blood) of Eger. The Palóc Folklore Exhibition offers a survey of the ethnography of the region. Dinner and overnight accommodations in Eger, “ the valley of the beautiful women ” .

Day 8: After breakfast transfer to Budapest (approx. 2 hr.).

Hungary has a temperate continental climate with Mediterranean and Atlantic influences. Depending on the location, winters can be cold, cloudy and damp or windy, the summers warm and sometimes very hot. May, June and November are the rainiest months, although more rain usually falls in the west and Southwest than in the east. The number of hours of sunshine a year varies between 1900 and 2500 – among the highest in Europe. From April to the end of September, you can expect the sun to shine for about 10 hours a day. July is the hottest month (average temperature 23.2° C) and January the coldest (-1.3° C). The average annual temperature is 11° C.

Rides include a variety of accommodation, mostly in modern hotels but sometimes in private guesthouses, converted manor house and castles. Generally the rooms have en-suite facilities, though sometimes bathrooms are shared between two rooms and you do need to be prepared for this on some nights.

The Kisbér  horse is one of the oldest of the European breeds with a rich heritage of service to mankind and they are often referred to as "The Heavenly Horses" for their tremendous willingness and heart. With hardly a single fence or man-made obstacle to cross on the way, the going on all rides is excellent.

The rides include an average of 4 to 6 hours riding a day and are lead by Janos. You are expected to ride English style and to keep up and together with the group, both stopping and moving on when requested. You also need to be quite fit as the riding is quite strenuous, often in an endurance style.

 We don't use saddle bags. For the ride you can use a small backpack or belt pack for a water bottle or small personal belongings. After every 2 - 2.5 hours we stop and take a break and are met by the support vehicle.

Passports
Valid passport required by all nationals referred to in the chart except:
(a) 1. EU nationals holding a valid national ID card.
Passport Note
Nationals staying for longer than 30 days, who are not staying in a hotel, will need to register with the local police.
Note:  Hungary joined the Schengen Agreement on 21 December 2007 for overland entry points and seaports, and on 29 March 2008 for airports.

Visas
Not required by all nationals referred to in the chart above for stays of up to 90 days.
2. EU nationals staying longer than 90 days will need to register with the immigration department. 
3. Nationals of Australia, Canada and the USA staying longer that 90 days will need to apply for a long-stay visa.
