Summer Riding Program - Week One

Riding Lessons Available Monday through Friday
7:00 - 7:30 am
$15 per person

Begin the day with a canyon breakfast cookout at 8:30am

Gold Panning - 2:00pm

Apache Cliffs
Historic look-out of the Chiricahua Apaches, where they kept watch across the valley for soldiers deploying from Fort Bowie. Some riding experience advisable. About six and a half hours saddle time.

Chiricahua National Monument
Spectacular rock formations along a challenging trail climbing to 7,ooo ft - with indescribable views. Approximately four hours saddle time. Please note 110 mile round trip trailering fee of $60 per horse. Eight riders maximum, two minimum.

Scenic ride through Stronghold Canyon, hideout of Cochise and his Apache braves. About six and a half hours saddle time.

Old Fort Bowie
Ruins of the fort and the old Butterfield Trail offer a fascinating glimpse of the past. Please note 110 mile round trip trailering fee of $60 per horse. Eight riders maximum, two minimum.  Be sure to take money for their gift shop!

An easy amble to the local "Bar and Grill" for a "no host" lunch - or take a pack lunch. You'll go to Sunsites via acres of open range (Restaurant charges will be added to your invoice)

Site of the old Soren homestead. Tom Soren a miner and prospector, lived and died in this remote canyon in the 1880s Scenic ride, great views. About six and a half hours saddletime

Beautiful rugged canyon near Cochise Stronghold where the Chiricahua Apaches kept their horses while camping in this, their favorite campground. Steep trail, great views. About six hours saddletime.
