Lazy K Bar Guest Ranch, Tucson - Arizona

Located on 160 acres in the Tucson Mountains neighboring Saquaro National Park West, the Lazy K offers guests serenity, spectacular scenery and miles of protected desert terrain to explore.
The Lazy K Bar is a well-rounded vacation destination offering riding, swimming, hiking or relaxing - something for everyone in the family. Guests also enjoy the ranch's spacious library with numerous books and can meet before dinner at the ranch's Long Horn Bar for a cocktail. While there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms, there is a large-screen television in the main lodge. At the Lazy K Bar you will enjoy home cooking, a family atmosphere, and the spectacular Arizona desert.
There are a  lot of singles and single parents with children that are delighted with the no-hassle, safe environment the ranch offers. The same attraction draws grandparents taking their grandchildren on that memorable vacation.

2006/07 Rates include accommodations, meals, horseback riding, team-penning, heated pool and spa, hiking
and guided nature walks, nightly activities - cookouts, hayrides, country western dancing, cowboy singer, Southwestern educational programs.

Activities:

Horseback riding through mountain and desert country. Two rides (slow and fast) twice a day, seven days a week. In May and September only one morning ride is included and an evening ride is optional (extra).
The Lazy K features team penning, a horse and cattle game, which takes place in the arena. Riders of various skill levels may participate and this event has generated great enthusiasm. Moonlight and sunset rides are also available at an additional charge. Heated pool, two lighted tennis courts, Jacuzzi, volleyball, horseshoe pitching, skeet shooting, shuffleboard, and basketball. Recreation room with billiards, Ping-Pong, and shuffleboard table. Excellent golf is nearby.

Entertainment: Nature talks, team-drawn hayrides, square dancing, western music, country/western dance lessons, TV room for viewing special programs, rodeos. Tucson evening entertainment within a 20 minute drive.
Atmosphere:
The Lazy K Bar is a casual, relaxed ranch. The riding program geared to individual ability with opportunities to increase your horse knowledge. It is great for those who enjoy outdoor activities or just relaxing in the fresh Arizona sunshine. A haven for bird-watchers.

A typical day at the ranch 

Accommodations:
The original homestead building, built in 1933, serves as the main office. The guest ranch operation started in 1936 with only six rooms, a small dining room and horses to ride.
All of the Lazy K’s guest rooms received a total renovation during the summer of 1999. They are decorated in a southwestern motif that retains a real ranch feel, with no phone or television disturbing your peace.

Today the Lazy K Bar Ranch has a total of 24 guest rooms. All are ground level, with private entrance and private bath with tub/shower.

The standard rooms generally have two extra long twin beds with a chair sleeper or one queen size bed.

The deluxe rooms can accommodate a family of 4 or 5. One king bed plus a sofa sleeper/trundle bed or two queen beds plus a sofa sleeper.

There are four suites that consist of a bedroom with a king bed and a living room with sofa sleeper and/or trundle bed to sleep 2 to 4 children. Each suite has a fireplace and a private porch or patio.

Dining: Hearty ranch-style meals served in lodge dining room. On Saturday night T-bone steaks are grilled over mesquite and served under the stars next to the ranch's 10-foot waterfall. Breakfast cooked to order, luncheon buffets, many great Mexican dishes.

Children under 6 ride with supervision in arena.
Babysitting can be arranged at an hourly rate. Children are the responsibility of their parents.
