Cattle & Trail Adventure in Quebec

St Victor Rodeo

Sample Itinerary- subject to changes

Day1:

Transfer from Quebec airport (1h30) between 4 and 8 PM. Visit of the ranch and dinner. Accommodation in our cottage for the following nights.

Day 2:
Meeting at the stables in the morning (around 9:30 AM).  Ethology, test ride and lesson about western riding in the morning. After lunch, we go on a ride across the maple tree forest. We learn how to rope after dinner.
Riding: 4-6 hours

Day 3:
Introduction to cattle penning. Before becoming a western equestrian sport, this technique was used by ranch workers to wean cattle. We will end the day with a trail ride. In the evening, we enjoy a campfire night under the stars.
Riding: 4-6 hours

Day 4:
We leave early morning (around 8:30 AM) for a visit to the St Victor Rodeo. We will go there on horseback with other cowboys (usually around 25-60 riders total) and we have lunch together. We return to the ranch in the afternoon (around 4 PM) and we visit the Arthur Pomerleau Dam. We have drinks and go for a swim (weather allowing). Diner is at the ranch.
Riding: 4-6 hours

Day 5:
We do some cattle penning and other equestrian games at the ranch. For lunch, we introduce you to 'poutine' (to be paid extra) at Saint-Éphrem and we visit the village. In the afternoon, we go on a trail ride across the valley.
Riding: 4-6 hours

Day 6:
Today, you can choose between riding with the Trail Riders club of St Victor or going for a ride to the sugar shack and indulge in a delicious meal featuring crepes and maple syrup. We spend the evening at the St Victor rodeo.

Day 7:
This morning we go for a hike (about 2h30) towards beautiful Mont Morne. At the top, you can see the whole Beauce region and the surrounding landscape. In the afternoon, we practice cattle penning and go for a swim at the dam. In the evening, we spend time chatting by the campfire.

Day 8:
Last ride at the ranch this morning, before going back home.
