Seasons
As a mountain range, the Dolomites receive less precipitation on an annual basis than do the majority of the Alps. However, the southern Dolomites (the Brenta Group and Lake Garda area) can be foggy at times, when the cold air mixes with the warmer air from nearby Venice.
Please, keep in mind that, in the Alps, weather can change quickly.

Summer (July to September)
The summer months feature warm temperatures and plenty of sun. While the average maximum temperature may reach some 25 degrees Celsius (80°F) on the valley floors, the gentle wind of the Dolomites guarantees refreshing moments in the shade of rich green woods.

Fall (October to November)
This is the time of the year when temperature drops. Usually, weather conditions remain stable and pleasant, making the Dolomites a perfect place to plan a “late summer” adventure!

Winter (December to March)
Winter snow usually begins to accumulate in December, lasting through March, and sometimes into April. While winter temperatures do fall below freezing, the sun shines an unparalleled 8 days out of 10 in the Dolomites – more than any other range in the Alps!

Spring (April to June)
Warmer weather and longer days return in Spring. This is also one of the rainiest time of the year. But this is welcomed, as it clears the air for spectacular vistas and brings beautiful green valleys and pastures overflowing with wildflowers.
