Dietary Restrictions
We can cater to most dietary restrictions if given prior notice.

This trip includes and can accommodate special dietary requests.

Rides are available every morning and every afternoon. All of our rides are small, 4-6 guests max, giving us the ability to tailor every ride to your specific interest.  While it is always an option, riding is never mandatory. Some guests never miss a ride while others only ride once or twice. Horseback rides are organized by the head wrangler during mealtimes. Ride options include family rides, adult rides, kids rides, walking rides, and fast rides. The first rides leave the corrals right after breakfast and return for lunch. Afternoon rides leave the corrals between 1:00pm and 1:30pm. Fast rides are available to experienced riders after one full day of riding. Once weekly, an all-day ride is offered. We also take an early breakfast ride once a week, where you can enjoy your hot breakfast out on the trail.

Riding Requirements
Horseback riding is a very physical activity, one which requires balance, stamina and strength. Anyone who is physically fit can learn to ride. Kids must be at least 6 years old to ride at the ranch. It is mandatory that every rider wear riding boots, for safety. If you do not have riding boots, the ranch has cowboy boots for rent in the ranch store. These are perfect for children with growing feet. We also provide helmets for anyone that would like one. Helmets are required for anyone 12 years of age and younger.

If this is your first riding vacation, you will feel right at home. We offer horseback riding lessons to our guests and can accommodate all levels of experience from old hands to greenhorns. Our certified wranglers will work to make you comfortable and safe. Our #1 priority is always our guests safety. The Ranch offers a variety of riding lessons for all riding abilities. While the wranglers strive to make you a better rider during every ride, you also have the option of taking a lesson in one of the ranch’s many riding arenas. The controlled environment of an arena and the supervision of an instructor, provide a great opportunity for riders to hone their skills. Group lessons of 4+ are included, but private and semi-private lessons can be booked for an additional fee.

With over 75,000 acres to roam, there is virtually no end of possibilities for you to explore. Whether you prefer a high mountain lookout or a cool afternoon ride by the river, you are sure to lose yourself in this remarkable landscape.

The Ranch is home to over 120 head of horses. Our horse-to-guest ratio is over 2-to-1, allowing us to suit horses to each rider’s individual ability and experience level. Our horses range from the most experienced kids’ horses all the way through to horses suitable for experienced riders. So, whether you’re an old hand or someone who needs a helping hand, you can be sure to enjoy your time in the saddle. Your horse will be just that – YOUR horse for the week. He will be ready and waiting for you every morning of your stay, along with the saddle that suits you best.

Guests can enjoy horseback riding at all levels, hiking, river rafting, mountain biking, fly fishing, tennis, trap shooting, swimming, kids programs, archery, wildlife viewing, golf, pool, a wide variety of tours - or simply do nothing at all. The ranch also features a heated indoor pool, a hot tub, and a complete fitness facility. In addition to daytime activities, evening events include ranch casino nights, campfire nights, volleyball games, reining horse demos, fire engine games and other experiences. Guests can also head over to the ranch’s Saloon for a cold beer, wines from British Columbia or around the world, or their favorite drink. Due to COVID-19 Corona virus pandemic and certain travel restrictions we are applying some temporary policy changes to some of our tours.

For Cranbrook Beckley's Cattle and Guest Ranch (GRBC03):

We allow guests whose booking is affected by travel restrictions to transfer their trip to later date.

Keeping in mind the ever changing Covid – 19 situation, rest assured that we are keeping track of the most recent changes and policies to be able to open the Ranch in a safe and efficient manner. Our staff will be trained on the most current guidelines for social distancing and sanitizing procedures.

*We will ask guests to please take all precautionary measures to limit their exposure while traveling to the ranch. We will also be doing daily voluntary temperature checks on guests. Daily temperature checks will be standard procedure for all staff.
*Our meticulous cleaning procedures that have been in place all along will continue with the addition of more detailed disinfectant protocols. There will be increased disinfectant cleaning done in the main lodge and common areas. We will not offer daily housekeeping (by CDC order)
*Our main lodge is over 7500 sq. feet. This allows us great flexibility in social distancing practices in the bar area, living rooms and our dining room. Our outdoor patio will also be available for meals, allowing ample space for our guests and staff to social distance easily.
*All food and beverages will be served by our staff wearing masks.
*Hand washing, sanitizer use and regular wipe downs of hard surfaces will be constant in the kitchen and throughout the common areas of the ranch. We will have plenty of Hand Sanitizer available and ready for your use.
*We will be providing a western bandana to each guest at the ranch, this can be used as a face covering for times that close contact may be unavoidable. You are welcome to bring your own mask if you choose to do so. We will not require guests to wear a facemask, but will make the bandana available to you during your stay.
*Drivers and Guests will be required to wear masks when in ranch shuttle vans. Luckily we do everything in house and on site, so rides are short and limited.
*In accordance with the then-current gathering restrictions, we may have to give separate orientations, stagger rides, shooting sport, pool and hot tub use, and re-configure evening activities. But please know that we are thinking and talking all of it through and are coming up with fun alternative activities if they are needed.
*Communal equipment and gear will be wiped down after each use.
*River rafting will be operated under the provincial guidelines.
