Green Mountain National Forest

This is a place with rolling green hills, forested mountains, blue mountain lakes, and trickling creek beds. The forest service maintains a number of trails that can be accessed by horseback riders. Some of these trails allow no motorized vehicles, maintaining the ambiance of the wilderness. These trails extend for miles into the forestland, around rolling green pastures, border mountain lakes, and cross creek beds. On some trails, you can see remnants of history. You may see an old mill-dam and lodge, or even ride on an old wagon trail.

Located on 700 beautiful acres, surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest and overlooking a pristine lake, the Resort is the perfect setting for a Horseback Riding Vacation.
Enjoy the spectacular property as you walk, trot or canter through serene mountain pastures, over miles of wooded trails, by untouched lakes and ponds, through the lush, green canopy of spring, the flowering country fields of summer and the brilliant colors of autumn’s foliage.

From Memorial Day (end of May / early June) to October you can enjoy daily trail rides into the breathtaking Green Mountains of Vermont. We offer daily riders in the morning and in the afternoon - usually 2 hrs (depending on the groups, the riding level and the weather). Trail rides (40 miles of trails available) are offered with English or Western saddles.

We will help you to create a personalized riding vacation to suit your needs and ability level, making it as varied and intensive as desired. In addition to the Equestrian Center, the resort’s numerous facilities include tennis, swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, massage therapy, clay bird shooting, nearby golf … or just simply enjoying the breathtaking vistas from a comfortable chair!

With 700 private acres perched at the top of a quiet mountain road, a 740 acre lake, miles of trails, expansive meadows, the Green Mountain National Forest and a full host of activities, there is no shortage of things to do, even for non-riders.
Non-riding activities available on the resort include swimming, beach and lake activities (fishing and boating - extra fee might apply), clay bird shooting and hiking.

Due to COVID-19 Corona virus pandemic and certain travel restrictions we are applying some temporary policy changes to some of our tours.

For Green Mountain Getaway (IRVT03):

We will only be offering beginner riding lessons this season. Our trail rides will not be changing and we will continue to offer our trail riding packages. With the uncertainty of what the Summer will look like, we will not be bringing in advanced riding staff or horses this season.

We are pleased to announce that, having reached the goal of a minimum of 80% of our eligible population having received the Covid-19 vaccine, the State of Vermont has lifted all Covid-19 related restrictions for individuals and business operations (6.14.21).  This is a tremendous feat and we are proud to be a part of this historic milestone.
As has been our goal all along, we continue to go above & beyond in order to ensure the safest possible stay for you, our team members, partner-vendors and neighbors.  We continue to incorporate additional protocols (e.g. frequent disinfectant cleaning of public areas) and encourage those who are not fully vaccinated (guests, team members and partner-vendors) to wear masks and socially distance when in the presence of others.
We also appreciate and respect that many fully vaccinated guests, team members and partner vendors may choose to wear a mask as their own personal preference.
As always, it is our mission to offer everyone a relaxing and safe visit – both of mind & body.

As of August 1st, 2020:

  • The wearing of masks in public is a Vermont State Mandate.  Social distancing is also mandatory.
  • Here at the resort, we have developed new health & safety protocols for our operations and each Team Member has been trained on these new guidelines so that we can offer the most safe & enjoyable stay possible.
  • Every guest will be asked to fill out a health survey prior to arrival.
  • We are abiding by lodging & services occupancy and other restrictions upon opening and beyond.
  • Currently, reduced outdoor & indoor dining is allowed and we will offer take-out & on-property delivery for guests.
  • Most activities will also be available, however at this time we are not offering spa & salon services.

Our goal is to go above and beyond the requests made by the state of Vermont- ensuring the safest stay possible for you, our team members, partner-vendors and neighbors.

With our mountain top location, variety of accommodations options (guest houses, cabins & lodge rooms), spacious outdoors (700 private acres, abutting the Green Mountain National Forest), private beach, 740 acre lake, horseback riding, miles of hiking trails, tennis, lawn games and more – and strict adherence to covid-19 health & safety related guidelines – we believe our guests will find luxurious and exclusive spaces to relax and enjoy their stay at our resort.
