Introduction
Abruzzo/Molise Italy
Join us for a few days in close contact with nature, completing a full tour around the largest lake in Italy, Lake Occhito (perimeter of 68 km).

Around the lake, dozens of roads and lanes intersect between cultivated lands and woods, spontaneously building an exciting path to explore on horseback.
The area surrounding the lake is an important resting place and refuge for many animals, including various species of mammals (wolf, wild boar, porcupine, marten, oak, marten, badger, otter) birds (black kite, red kite, buzzard, mallard, owl, scops owl, owl, herons) as well as various species of fish present in the reservoir (carp, chub, largemouth bass, southern bleak, crucian carp).

Food will be another highlight of your holiday as we only provide meals based on typical recipes and local products.

You might be able to see a family of wild boars, perhaps a wolf or a small otter. There will be no lack of aerial trajectories of kites and buzzards.
At 1.30 pm, we stop for lunch, right on the shores of the lake, then, after a few moments of relaxation, we will leave for an ancient fortified manor. Tonight, we enjoy a good dinner.
Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight at Manor near Occihto Lake

Day 3 (Saturday): Lake Occhito Ride
After breakfast, we tack up the horses and get back in the saddle for another day of trekking. We will discover a new side of the lake.

Seasons
Rainfall is most frequent and heaviest in late autumn and early spring, though of short duration, but lasts longer in winter, with peak levels in November and the lowest levels in July.

The annual average temperature varies from 8°-12° in the mountainous area to 12°-16° in the maritime area; in both areas the difference can be quite extreme and take you completely by surprise.  January and February are the coldest month. In the mountains, it can often drop below zero and an open-fire is very welcome to counter the nip in the air.
