The Ranch is located in the North-East region of Wyoming in the famous Black Hills, not far from Montana and South Dakota borders. Nothing can describe the beauty of these places. During your stay here, you will not be considered a tourist but one of us and you will live a real ranch life experience.

This is a stationary ride where all nights are spent on the ranch.
Description
You will stay in an authentic working ranch set on a 30000 acres property. Guests are accommodated in a lodge made completely out of wood and fitted with 8 bedrooms. Each room has a private bathroom with hair dryer and a comfortable bed. There is also a small cabin, separated from the main building with its own bathroom.
Please, note that there are no TVs on the ranch. Instead, there is a saloon with a pool-table and a foosball table. The saloon has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and is decorated with several Western-themed objects.
There is Wi-Fi access and cellphone service at the ranch.
After a long riding day, you can go for a swim in the lake or simply relax in our hot tub.
There is a small shop on the ranch where you can buy western clothes and tack.
Room Occupancy
The single supplement fee is mandatory for all solo travelers.
Meals
All meals are included with this package and a lot of attention is brought to the kitchen.
Please, note that meal times may vary depending on the daily program.
When moving herd or doing cattle work we may stay for lunch outside the ranch. On these occasions we'll have a buffet table with cold cuts, cheeses, sources for everyone to make sandwiches at their leisure. Drinking water will also be available.
The day begins with a good buffet breakfast including coffee/tea, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, ham, cheese, cookies, eggs, toasts, ham etc.
Lunch and dinner are also buffet style and feature a variety of dishes: pasta, meat, vegetables, bread and homemade cakes etc.

Riding
Animals
There are about 100 horses and 2,000 heads of Black Angus Cattle on the Ranch. Some wildlife can be encountered on the ranch, including pronghorns, deer, raccoons, beavers, marmots, prairies dogs and much more!
Horses
The ranch has 35-40 saddle horses that are between 3 and 15 years old. Our horses are mostly Quarter Horses, but we also have a few Paints and Mustangs, all with great cow-sense. The ranch has an exceptional Registered Quarter Horses breeding program, of which we are very proud of!
Most of our horses are raised and trained by our ranch cowboys, ensuring that we have horses we can trust. From April to October, we begin the training of our 2/3 years old that then become our new saddle horses.
We have a horse to match every level of riders from beginner to advanced.
Riding Terrain
The ranch property is about 30,000 acres and consist of a mix of hills, forests, canyons, lakes and open fields. The Ranch is located in the North-East region of Wyoming in the famous Black Hills, not far from Montana and South Dakota borders.
Children Policy
Children that are 10 years old or younger can stay for free but must stay with their parents.
Parents must accompany children on all ranch activities.
Children must have their own helmet and riding vest when riding. We do not supply those items.
Safety
All riders under 18 years old must wear a helmet.
Insurance
Adults and children are required to have medical insurance that covers horse riding activities. This is mandatory to anyone that wishes to participate in horse riding activities.
You must show proof of insurance to the ranch at check-in.
Itinerary
Each morning, during breakfast, our cowboys will explain the plan for the day.
Before breakfast, they have gathered the horses from their pasture and put them into the corrals, where a horse will be assigned to every guest for the day. During your stay with us, you will have the chance to try several horses.
We usually ride for 3-4 hours in the morning, return to the ranch for lunch and ride again in the afternoon for another 3-4 hours.
Please, note that there is not set program as the work that needs to be done will vary depending on the time of the year. There may be times when no cattle work is required. In that case, we will just ride for fun, enjoying the beautiful landscape.
April-June: Calving Season
We need to ride to the herd to check on the babies every day to be sure that they are ok.
At the end of the calving season, we will have a branding which we still do like in the "old west" with horses, ropes, sweat and dust.
July-August: Cattle Drives for pasture management
At that time, we usually have about 1200 head of cattle. The cowboys will explain to the guest the cattle drive techniques.
August-October: Cattle Round-Up
We will begin our roundup of cattle and choose which ones to keep and to sell before winter. The cattle we keep will be moved to the winter pasture.
This is a period of hard work which involves long riding days.
Apart from cattle work, you can ride in our arena and practice team penning , breakaway roping , barrel racing and/or cutting horse.
Non-Riding Activities
During the week, we may have a free day off the ranch where we will go and visit local sites. Non-riding days are decided from time to time together with all guests. During rainy days, more excursions are offered to guests to make the most of the vacation.
There are many attractions worth visiting around the ranch, including Devils Tower (First national monument of America), which is a few miles from ranch, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Deadwood etc.
During that day, transportation is included but meals need to be paid extra.
When possible we will also go see Rodeos, Horse auction and other interesting local events.

- Belle Fourche Rodeo - June 30, July 1-2-3-4. Distance from the ranch 1:15 hours.
- Deadwood Rodeo July 23-30. Distance from the ranch 1:30 hours.
- Ride Horse Feed a Cowboy Benefit Rodeo Hulett - August 19-20.
- Rapid City - August 23-27. Distance from the ranch 2:15 hours.

In order to complement your ranch stay, you can choose to add one of our extensions:
- 4 days and 3 nights Yellowstone Tour: from May to October with a minimum of 4 participants.

Seasons
Generally speaking, summer visitors can expect summer daytime temperatures to run in the 70s and 80s degrees Fahrenheit. Ninety-degree days are rare anywhere in the state and over 100˚F are almost unheard of. The air cools quickly after sundown. It can get downright cold in the mountain towns. Wyoming folks sleep under blankets most nights and are never far away from a warm jacket.
A typical Wyoming summer day will start out bright and sunny. Clouds will appear on the western horizon about noon and thunderheads will develop in mid-afternoon. Scattered, isolated thundershowers will dot the landscape in late afternoon and early evening. Some can be severe with wind and hail, especially on the eastern plains, but the chances of getting wet in any given location are slim. Wyoming is mostly a fairly dry, low humidity place in any season.
Autumn in Wyoming is a pure delight. Most places will start to see snow in mid-September, but winter weather won’t start to stick until late November. For most of the two months in between, the state enjoys a special season called Indian Summer, with warm days, cool nights and spectacular colors. It’s a delightful change-of-season experience.
Weather is one of the most pleasant and interesting things about living in Wyoming. Enjoy your trip to the Cowboy State. Bring a jacket.

- riding jeans (if you are not used to long riding hours, we recommend nylon tights to avoid bruises) or breeches
- hat or cap

- lip balm
- swim wear
- home slipper for the ranch house
Children must have their own helmet and riding vest when riding. We do not supply those items.
Very important:
At the check-in, you will need to bring a photocopy of the travel insurance showing the specific clause that indicates coverage for horse riding accidents in order to participate in the activities.
