Istria Croatia
The base of your bicycle holiday will be Porec, which is probably the most important coast town on the west coast of the Istria peninsula in Croatia. The Euphrasian Basilica in Porec and the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of Mary have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1997.

Most of the time the route runs along traffic free side roads in the hinterland of Istria or along the coast.

Day 1: Arrival at Porec
Individual arrival at your hotel in Porec. We suggest a visit to the Euphrasian Basilica – listed as UNESCO World Heritage since 1997.

Day 2: Porec's Hinterland 
Today’s cycling day makes you explore the hinterland of Porec. First along the coast to the bathing resort Santa Marina di Vabriga and then to Vabriga. You leave the coast again and continue cycling in the inland to Visnjan and back to Porec.

Day 3: Limski Channel
Today you will cycle from Porec to the famous fjord-like Limski channel with its blue shimmering water. The Limski channel is a protected natural area and on its coasts you will find mussels- and oyster breeding. Through the inland you will get back to Porec.

Day 4: Groznjan to Porec
You will transfer to the artistic village Groznjan this morning (not included). Named the first time in 1102 it is today a meeting point for musicians from all over the world. During summer a lot of classical concerts with young musicians take place. In the second half of July you can join the festival “Jazz is back”. In the end of September artists meet for “Ex Tempore” - performing arts.
From Groznjan you cycle passing Buje downhill to the Adriatic coast and along to Novigrad (Cittanova). This medieval town is surrounded by a defensive wall and is seated at the mouth of the river Mirna. On your way back you will pass the cave “Jama Baredine” – a dripstone cave, before reaching Porec again.

Day 5: Motovun to Porec
After a short transfer in the hinterland of Porec you reach Motovun, a formerly important strategic point of the Venetians, invulnerable on the top of a steep hill. You may surround this medieval town and enjoy the breath taking view on the surrounded hilly landscape, the sea and the Mirna valley. Along the Parenzana you continue your ride to Vizinada from where you will see once again the impressing town of Motovun before going back to Porec.

Day 6: Porec to Rovinj
Today you will reach Rovinj, one of the most beautiful cities in Istria. Rovinj is surrounded in the west and the south west by the Adriatic Sea. Afar the high bell tower of the Euphemia Church built on the highest spot of Rovinj, greats you. Go ahead, if you would like to cycle to Zlatni rt (also known as Golden Cape), a peninsula, where you find a park in a nature reserve. Return transfer to Porec in the afternoon by transfer (not included).

Day 7: Kanfanar to Pula
After a transfer to Kanfanar you cycle through wide woods in direction of Pula. In Fazana you have the possibility to visit with one of the boats the Brijuni-islands. The Brijuni-islands are twelve smaller and 2 bigger islands; the main island Veli Brijun was used by the Yugoslav statesman Tito as summer residence. Today the islands are a National Park and only Veli Brijun can be visited by the public. Continue your cycling trip to Pula, the biggest city of Istria. Famous for the antique places of interest like the amphitheatre! In the evening transfer back to Porec.

Seasons
The coast benefits from a pleasant Mediterranean climate with a lot of sunshine. Summers tend to get quite hot and dry while winters are mild and wet. The shoulder seasons are the best time to explore Istria peninsula.
