in Wales
Wales is a country of green hills, hospitality and lovely melodies. It is the land of King Arthur, converted to Christianity by the Romans, unconquered by the Normans and never really discovered by the “tourist army”. The area of Pembrokeshire, where our Wales cycle tours take place, is known for its majestic mountains and fertile valleys, and was in past times a refuge for the Celts.
Hidden Trails Welsh cycle tour – The Celtic Trail – traverses Pembrokeshire’s contrasting terrain, as it criss-crosses an extensive network of quiet country lanes, following the National Cycle Network.
Choose to cycle the windswept moorlands and high peaks of the Preseli Hills, which are purported to be the sources for the Stonehenge bluestones, and are today dotted with the studios of artists and crafts people who draw inspiration from the area's natural landscape and numerous Neolithic monuments. Or explore gentler routes that lead to picturesque villages, quiet stretches of inland waterway, colorful fishing harbors and fine sandy beaches.
