Mountain Trails
  • unlimited mountain trails
  • all day mountain rides are available for week-long guests, weather permitting

Loping Rides
  • available after approval from the head wrangler to advanced riders only
Sightseeing Rides
  • available to all levels of riders which last a minimum of 2 hours, except during holiday periods when rides are 1 ½ hours long
  • great for bird watchers - marshy ponds which attract birds not normally indigenous to the desert along with rides on Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge, which is known for its variety of birds
    spot antelope, koos deer, coyotes, quail, hawks, golden eagle, white egrets
All Day Rides
  • explore and ride deeper into the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge (6 hours)
Private Lessons
  • During your stay, let our expert wranglers increase your enjoyment and understanding of the sport of horseback riding.  Suitable for riders of all abilities, private lessons are scheduled not to interfere with your regular daily horseback trail rides. 
    Cost: $50 per hour.
Clinics on Demand
The Ranch is pleased to offer a clinic designed for you and at your convenience - pick your dates! Regardless of your present ability: beginner, intermediate or advanced we can improve your riding skills with topnotch instructors and their expertise. You will be challenged and increase your competency level each day. Intense sessions will include 2 hours a day of mounted instruction and 3 hours of trail riding designed specifically for you.

Riding Level Explained
ABeginner
Beginner A rider who has limited experience, is unable to post the trot and does not canter.
BNovice
Novice A rider who is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable and in control at the walk, moderate length posting trots, and short canters.
CIntermediate
Intermediate A rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
D Strong Intermediate
Strong Intermediate An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.
EAdvanced
All of the above, plus an independent seat, soft hands, and capable of handlinga spirited horse in open country.
Lodging: Standard
Lodging Level Explained
