Explore miles of open country by horseback, enjoy live music around the campfire, or take a walk to the monument of Ed Schieffelin, the founder of Tombstone, right here on ranch property. You can also visit Tombstone, enjoy the pool and whirlpool, or visit the saloon and play a round of pool or poker. Everything is possible, within the theme of the Old West of course!

Make your own way to the ranch or use the ranch's transfer service from Tucson. Then, check into your room and go for a stroll before enjoying your first dinner. There is no riding on your arrival and departure day.

Riding Activities
Whether you are an advanced rider or a beginner, our trails are suitable for all riding levels with a wide variety of terrain, petroglyphs, and historic sites to visit. Join us on unforgettable rides to landmark destinations and ghost towns while enjoying the magnificent country. Ride as little or as much as you like.
We can also provide riding lessons for an extra fee.
Slow rides
For all levels of rider (walking only). Exploring the Tombstone hills, the rides are scenic and cover a variety of terrains including sandy desert washes, abandoned railroad grade, old jeep trails and hills once mined for silver. Take in spectacular views of surrounding mountain ranges, Tombstone town and of the land where Apaches, cowboys and prospectors once rode.
Fast Rides (mandatory to join at least 1 slow ride before joining a fast ride)
For a more challenging riding adventure. Walking, trotting and loping through the high desert terrain and a chance to really ride your horse.
Half Day ride
This ride takes guests on an adventure in the Tombstone Hills. With breathtaking views of the Huachuca Mountains and many prospectors monuments and abandoned mines to spot this ride covers beautiful country.
Team Penning
Try your hand at moving cattle in the arena!
Obstacle Course
You and your horse work together to perform different activities, crossing a bridge, going over logs, opening and closing a gate, and even getting the mail.

Trail to the 1800s: Our Wranglers take you back in time to visit local history. Petroglyphs, hand dug wells, mine shafts, rock cabin ruins, abandoned railroad trestles and the hidden valley are just some of the places to ride by.

Ride to Tombstone: Ride to town just like Wyatt Earp and the gunslingers of the past. Through old ranches and along washes, step off your horse in an old Bull Riding arena and head to Allen street for an opportunity to look around the town, take in the sights, do a little Western shopping or have a beer at Big Nose Kate’s. Mount up and ride back to the ranch down Schieffelin Monument road.

Beer and Cheetos ride: Wash away the dust with a cold refreshing beer, taste some empty calorie snack foods and share stories with good company, in the Arizona desert.

Tequila Taster: Raise a red solo shot cup to your favorite western hero all while sitting on your horse on the desert trail.

Winter Gathering: Ride through dry riverbeds, rocky desert hills, slot canyons and mesquite groves to find and gather our herd of Criollo cattle and drive them to the ranch, then back out to pasture. Trail riding if there is spare time.

For anyone who has ever wanted to Shoot old style guns that the cowboys carried. Instruction given.
Archery with instructor
We’ve got bows and we’ve got arrows and we can teach you and your family how to shoot like an apache. Instruction given.
Off Ranch Activities and Exploring
With so much to do and see in Cochise County, we have put together a variety of educational trips and adventures. Each adventure has an additional charge per person. These offerings are subject to availability and minimum number of participants. Some activities might require an extra cost — Please contact us for details and questions.
Dragoon Mountain Tour (Minimum 3 people) - extra charge
The Dragoon mountains are where Apache Chief Cochise maintained one of his strongholds. It is said that the Apache’s disappeared into the granite mountains and not even the bravest soldier would follow them into the stronghold. Our tour will take you to council rock to walk where the Apache’s once walked and view the stronghold that was their home for many years.
Chiricahua National Monument Tour (Minimum 3 people)
One of the most spectacular places in Arizona, this area is thought to be formed because of a volcanic eruption some 27 million years ago. Hot ash fell and covered the area, now after many years of erosion spectacular “Hoodoos” (column like formations) are left. The national monument also preserves the Faraway Ranch that was once owned by Swedish immigrants Neil and Emma Erickson.
San Pedro River Walk (Minimum 3 people)
Walking tour along the river in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area. Designated a Riparian area by Congress in 1988, the San Pedro area is home to 84 species of mammals, 14 species of fish, 41 species of amphibians and reptiles and 100 species of breeding birds. It is also a valuable home to 250 species of migrating and wintering birds as well as containing archaeological sites that show the remains of human habitat from 13,000 years ago.
Trip to the town of Bisbee (Minimum 3 people)
With its colorful history the historic copper mining town of Bisbee is fun and informative to visit. Founded in 1880 Bisbee is known as one of the richest mineral sites in the world. And by the early 1900s it was a very rich, cultural and sophisticated but still with elements of the old west (found down in brewery gulch). Nowadays Bisbee is full of fascinating shops and restaurants coupled with interesting historical tours.
Kartchner Caverns State Park (Minimum 3 people)
Kartchner Caverns is one of the most spectacular living caves in America. Discovered in 1974 it is home to many limestone and mineral formations. Kartchner Caverns became a state park in 1988 and their guided educational tours are not to be missed!
ATV Tour (Minimum 3 people)
Adrenaline fuelled and full of fun three hour guided tours on ATVs to explore the local wilderness.
Sonoita Wine Tasting (Minimum 3 people)
With one of the major vineyard areas being in the high desert in the nearby Sonoita/Elgin area. With the altitude ranging between 3800ft and 6000ft the Sonoita/ Elgin high desert area has warm days and cool nights perfect for the grape growing season. Arizona wines are growing in popularity and the Sonoita vineyards produce some of the best.
OK Corral Gunfight (Minimum 3 people)
Watch the re-enactment of the most famous gunfight in Tombstone. Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, Morgan and Virgil Earp fought the Clantons and McLaurys on October 26 1881 in a brutal gun battle at the OK Corral.
Downtown Tombstone Historical Tour (Minimum 3 people)
Cowboys, Apaches, Prospectors, Miners and Red Light Ladies are only part of the colorful history of Tombstone AZ. It was one of the last boomtowns in the old west. The town was very prosperous 1877 to 1890 and was considered the largest productive silver district in Arizona. Its population grew from 100 to around 14,000 in less than seven years.
