Northern Lights Trek
East and South Iceland
Let us take you on an unforgettable trekking trip to the most spectacular and breathtaking places in South Iceland. We will embark on a unique journey into the wilderness and go back home with a backpack filled with incredible memories. We will go hunting for (some of the most impressive natural phenomena such as) the Aurora Borealis or as the locals call the them the Northern Lights, hiking on Solheimajokull glacier, super jeep-ing over rivers, snowshoeing in the wilderness of Iceland, trekking in Thorsmork valley, on Laugavegur trail and to Fimmvorduhals, the area of the famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption in 2010. Thorsmork Valley is by many thought to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, full of mystical landscapes and natural magic. Thorsmork gets its name from the Norse God of Thunder, Thor, who is believed to have struck down his hammer and created the valley. When Eyjafjallajokull erupted right above the valley in 2010 it formed two new craters named Magni and Modi after the sons of Thor according to Norse mythology. We will visit them along with the all the wonders of the valley, and who knows we might just meet up with some elves.
