Banff - Wilderness Tenting Ride - 3 days
Alberta Canada

A true western heritage experience in the stunning Banff National Park.

Horseback riding can truly bring you closer to nature than ever, amidst the peaceful solitude and incredible beauty of the Rocky Mountain back-country! Here you will learn all about the lifestyle in the West as the cowboys will guide you through Banff National Park, the photographer's haven of the Canadian Rockies. These pack trips take fellow adventurers deep into the heart of the rugged  North American wilderness to explore some of the most spectacular landscapes.  Soak up amazing views of Mystic Valley as you trot through the wilderness, keeping an eye out for deer, elk, and moose.

Explore some of Banff National Park's most spectacular back country. The clanging of the dinner bell calls all to delicious ranch-style meals. Coffee is always on and kept hot on the wood stove. The horses, chosen especially to meet your needs and experience, will win you over with their charming personalities and amaze you with their abilities. A strong "partnership" is usually formed by ride's end. During your ride, trails lead to the tranquil beauty of Mystic Lake; to the overwhelming views of Mystic Pass; the open valleys on the 40 Mile Summit, and the eerie atmosphere of Mystic Valley. The historic elk corral or wild goat trap should provide you with plenty of opportunities to see and capture on film the abundant wildlife common to the area: elk, deer, bighorn sheep, goats, eagles and the occasional bear or timber wolf. Lunch is served on the trail and there is usually time for some exploring, fishing and even a well deserved snooze in the tall grass.

You’ve never camped in a place like this before. As you ride along the trail, you’ll pass old growth pine and spruce trees draped in thick moss, giving the area a mystical feel.  And for the entire way, you’re treated to stunning, unobstructed views of the Rocky Mountains. But this style of camping isn’t ‘roughing it.’ Sleep in an A-frame canvas tent on a raised wooden platform and then freshen up at the wash stand (complete with hot water) when you wake up. Enjoy your meals in the giant kitchen tent (all prepared by an on-site cook) and trade stories about your horseback adventures. The rides are casual, with breaks and leisurely lunches.
