Day 1  Afternoon arrival and check in at the B&B. Overnight.
Day 2    10 AM start of the ride: 4 hour beach and forest ride.
Day 3    9:30am: start of full day ride – beach, forest and possibly Redwoods. Lunch is included.
Day 4    9:30am: start of full day ride – beach, forest and possibly Redwoods. Lunch is included.
Day 5    10am: 4 hour beach and forest ride. Departure

Option: If you arrive early enough on Day 1, we can start the riding program at 2 PM that afternoon. Departure would then be after breakfast on Day 5.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Check in at your inn in the afternoon. Meeting for ‘Happy Hour’ with wine and cheese to socialize at the Whitegate Inn. (not available if accommodations other than the Abigail or Whitegate were arranged). The Happy Hour invitation is good for each of your days at the inn.
Day 2: Meet at the riding stables at 9:45 AM for your 4 hour ride (if you prefer we can also schedule your ride for 2 PM instead). Meet your guide, go over the next day rides, get to know your horse and enjoy your ride. Back at your B&B at 5:30 pm join us for wine and cheese happy hour. Overnight.
Day 3: Continental breakfast, then a short drive to Cleone and meeting at the stables at 9:15 AM. We saddle up and go on a full day guided ride along the on the ocean bluffs with phenomenal views over the Pacific, across ranchlands and into the forests. Along the way we stop for lunch at a scenic lookout. IF we are still in time we meet at the B&B for wine and cheese. Overnight.
Day 4: Early breakfast and meet at the stables at 9:15 am. Today is again a long ride through ancient redwood forests, with ample opportunity for long trots and canters. After cantering on aptly named Ten-Mile Beach (or walking, if that better suits your style), riders strike inland though an enormous cattle ranch that ranges from the ocean, up the coastal ridges, back into the mountainous redwood forests. Lunch is included today. Alternatively your adventure may trek to the river headwaters, exploring old ranches and game trails.  5 to 6 pm wine and cheese. Overnight.
Day 5: We arranged a late check out for you. After breakfast another day of riding fulfills a dream for many people, concluding a 4 hour morning ride in a long canter along the surf, while cormorants and osprey circle overhead, and seals and whales cavort off-shore. Departure in the afternoon.

Optional Wine Tasting Tour
Come and experience the magic of the Mendocino Wine Country. A stretch luxury SUV will pick you up anywhere in or near Mendocino Village and take you on a guided day-long tour of the region's award-winning boutique wineries. Local wine guides will lead you in style to the lairs of some of the best—and least known—of California's North Coast vintners. You can kick back and sip sparkling wine as you enjoy the Anderson Valley's hauntingly beautiful scenery. A gourmet lunch will be served al fresco at one of the wineries. You can taste as many wines as you want during the day without the hassle or hazard of driving.
Your visits to wineries will afford opportunities for barrel and reserve tasting, behind-the-scene tours, discussions with the winemakers, and discounted case pricing. You will also be able to purchase limited production wines not available to the general public.
This options can be booked with us in advance (pending on availability). We can substitute one of the riding days with the wine tour (no extra charge) or you can book it in addition and extend your stay (extra).

Alternative lodgings can be arranged for you (usually at an additional charge) in charming Mendocino or closer to Cleone, where the riding stable is located.

Mendocino Upgrade: 
The Whitegate Inn: Step inside and enjoy a sense of informal luxury. Decor is elegant, set off by striking antiques and fresh flowers. Cross the threshold into the elegant drawing room where you can mingle with other guests or take in the ocean view. Rooms offer comfort in classic style - generously appointed with TV's, fireplaces and boasting irresistibly comfy European feather beds and immaculate private baths. The gourmet breakfasts and afternoon wine and cheese event are not to be missed. Help yourself to an evening treat of fine chocolates and sherry.  (surcharge applies).

Recommended Local Restaurants: Purple Rose Restaurant, Carine's Fish Grotto, The Wharf, The Cliff House, and Egghead's Restaurant.

The full riding days start at 9:30 AM and end at approx 5:30 PM. The full days will include a picnic lunch.
On some days the horses are shuttled by trailer to a different area to explore more countryside (Redwood Forest). You will return to the stables every day.
Riders should arrive at the riding stables 15 minutes before start times.

Your horse will be carefully matched to your riding ability, assuring your utmost enjoyment. Our horses include numerous individuals who have been ridden to wins and high placings in major endurance races, dressage, and other competitive events.

Bring your own:  Riders are welcome to bring their own saddles. Please indicate the style, size, and brand name of your saddle if you do so. In order that we can best match you with a suitable horse, please send a detailed description of your riding experience, current riding situation, preference for type of horse, and your height, age, and weight.

Lari Shea, winner of dozens of endurance events, including the prestigious Tevis Cup 100 Mile Endurance race, breeds Akhal-Teke, Russian Orlov crosses, and Arabians, many of whom have excelled in dressage and jumping, as well as on competitive trails. Her Appy and Quarter horses round out the stable of wonderfully well-trained horses, for both English and Western style enthusiasts. You won't believe the quality of the horses!

Passports
Valid passport required by all nationals referred to in the chart ; validity varies - for most countries the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date on which the holder enters the USA. If not, the holder will be admitted until the expiration date on the passport; check with the embassy (see Contact Addresses).
Passport Note
(a) For nationals included in the Visa Waiver Program (see below), passports must be valid for at least 90 days from date of entry.
(b) All travellers entering the USA under the Visa Waiver Program require individual machine-readable passports. Children included on a parent's passport also now require their own machine-readable passport. Travellers not in possession of machine-readable passports will require a valid USA entry visa.
(c) Passports issued on or after 26 October 2005 will need to have a biometric identifier in order for the holder to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Machine-readable passports issued between 26 October 2005 and 25 October 2006 require a digital photograph printed on the data page or an integrated chip with information from the data page. Machine-readable passports issued on or after 26 October 2006 will require an integrated chip with information from the data page (e-passport).

The US has announced new measures that require all travellers to provide details online 72 hours prior to travel.
ESTA: The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) came into force on 12 January 2009. It is a fully automated, electronic system for screening passengers before they begin travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. ESTA applications must be submitted at least 72 hours before travel to the USA. Some websites may charge you for the service but you can apply online for free at www.dhs.gov. The granting of an ESTA does not guarantee entry to the USA.

New Requirements for Travellers: As of 23 January 2007 all persons, including US citizens, travelling by air between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport, or other approved document, when entering or re-entering the USA. Similar requirements for those travelling by land or sea will be introduced on 1 June 2009.

Visas
Not required by nationals referred to in the chart above for stays of up to 90 days except:
1. nationals of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania and Slovak Republic, who do require a visa.
Visa Note
(a) Landed Immigrants of Canada and British residents of Bermuda who are citizens of, and have valid passports from, Commonwealth countries or Ireland are not eligible to enter the USA without a visa. (b) All passengers using US airports for transit purposes are required to obtain a transit visa. This does not affect qualified travellers travelling visa free under the Visa Waiver Program. (d) To qualify for visa-free travel under the Visa Waiver Program, nationals must travel on a valid passport, for holiday, transit or business purposes only and for a stay not exceeding 90 days. (e) Passengers must have the full address and ZIP code of where they are staying in the USA to be able to fully complete the I-94W form. Note: Airlines are also required to collect passenger details, including the address of their first night's accommodation in the USA, before they board the aircraft. (f) 2. Holders of UK passports with the endorsement British Subject, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Protected Person, British Overseas Citizen or British National (Overseas) Citizen do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program. A passport which states holder has right of abode or indefinite leave to remain in the UK does not qualify for visa free travel. (g) A visa does not expire with the expiry of the holder’s passport. An unexpired, endorsed visa in an expired passport may be presented for entry into the USA, as long as the visa itself has not been cancelled, is undamaged, is less than 10 years old and is presented with a valid non-expired passport, provided that both passports are for the same nationality. (h) Nationals of countries not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements (see Contact Addresses).

Validity
Visas may be used for travel to the USA until the date it expires. Some visas are valid for multiple entries. The length of stay in the USA is determined by US immigration officials at the time of entry but is generally six months; there is, however, no set time.
