Day 1: San Pedro Sula – Cerro Azul Meambar NP
You will be met by your guide in your hotel and transferred to Cerro Azul Meambar. After arrival at our lodging in the National Park, we set of to explore the magnificent tropical forest types of the Cerro Azul Meambar National Park. We will hike to the interchange zone between the tropical rainforest and the tropical cloud forest enjoying impressive views of the lake. Overnight Cerro Azul Meambar Visitor´s Centre.
Day 2: Cerro Azul Meambar NP – Tela
This morning we rise early for a nature observation hike. After our hike we pack and drive to Lago Yojoa. We continue on to Tela and the Caribbean coast. In route we visit Pulhapanzak Waterfall, the most impressive waterfall in the country, we have time for a brief swim in the refreshing mountain stream. Overnight in Tela.
Day 3: Punta Izopo National Park
In the morning we leave for Punta Izopo National Park. This excursion involves kayaking through the maze of mangrove creeks and rivers that make up this national park. The kayaks offer the perfect mode of transport to explore the mangroves and silently sneak up on the many animals and birds that inhabit the park. Lunch in the Garífuna village Triunfo de la Cruz. Overnight in Tela.
Day 4: Punta Sal National Park
In the early morning we leave by boat to explore the impressive rock formations of Punta Sal. We visit the sheltered little bays, well hidden among the rocks, with palm-fringed beaches and blue lagoons. We will take a brief forest hike. The rest of the time we are free to relax on the beach or swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water and explore the interesting marine life of the world's second largest Coral Reef, which comes close to the shore at Punta Sal. Overnight in Tela.
Day 5: Tela – La Ceiba
In the morning enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in Tela before we continue to La Ceiba in the afternoon. Overnight in La Ceiba.
Day 6: La Ceiba
Today it´s your choice: we go rafting on the Río Cangrejal class 2 - 3 or 4 rapids, home to some of the best white water in Central America. Or we enjoy a day of hiking in the Pico Bonito NP. Both programmes last until late afternoon. Overnight in La Ceiba.
Day 7: La Ceiba – San Pedro Sula
Transfer to the bus station to continue to San Pedro Sula in time to connect with your international departure flight. La Ceiba is the ideal spot to extend your stay on the Bay Islands.

Honduras is party to the Central America Border Control Agreement (CA-4). Under the terms of this agreement, tourists may travel within any of the CA-4 countries (Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Guatemala) for a period of up to 90 days, without completing entry and exit formalities at border immigration checkpoints. This period begins at the first point of entry in to any of the CA-4 countries. Fines are applied for travellers who exceed this 90-day limit, although a request for a 30-day extension can be made before the 90 days limit expires.
