Highlands and Canyons Explorer Ride

Highlands and Canyons Explorer Ride
Central Mexico Mexico

This is a very unique progressive ride at Rancho Las Cascadas for the advanced or expert rider.  It offers an incredible opportunity to enjoy a fast-paced ride with ample long canters and gallops.  The terrain is varied and throughout the entire week you will see an immense range of scenery featuring wide open fields, small quaint villages where you can stop for a cold beverage, lush valleys, densely wooded areas, broad mountain vistas with views in all directions, and dirt tracks running through the countryside.

Each day your ride continues through this rich land filled with history, flora, fauna and ancient tributes and ruins of the tribal people from hundreds of years ago.  Your horse will carry you nimbly though all the terrain and prove to be a fun and active participant in your adventure.  He will relax in the countryside each night while you return via car to the ranch to unwind.

This ride is truly the best of all worlds as you have the chance to ride longer days at a faster pace but only have to unpack once since you relax at the ranch each night.  Each day brings new sites and a brand new appreciation for the areas being discovered – each of which seem to appear magically.  You’ll be amazed how quickly the landscape changes.

The days are very active and fast paced and can include up to 7 hours of riding daily with the pace being about 30-35% walking and 65-70% cantering/galloping.  Each day offers something new and gives you the opportunity to get to know the real Mexico.

Rancho Las Cascadas is an all-inclusive ranch in the heart of Mexico.  It sits high above the mountain plains and is nestled amidst more than 500,000 acres of pristine countryside offering limitless guided trails and open-range horseback riding for all abilities.

While riding, stop in one of the pueblos (small towns) for a drink and explore.  The wranglers can introduce you to the locals and highlight points of interest. When not riding, enjoy scheduled sightseeing, cultural and shopping tours to really experience the local culture or just relax and enjoy all the amenities the Ranch has to offer.

If you prefer an easier ride, check out the Colores de Mexico ride.  Or, if you don't have a whole week to spare, consider an A la carte Riding package.
