Innviertel Trail Ride
Upper Austria
Austria
Come join us for a lovely riding trip with friends, traversing the beautiful forests and high plateaus, pretty lakes and
green meadows of the ever charming Innviertel region. Nestled between Salzburg and Passau and bordering Bavaria, your special adventure begins at the darling guesthouse of the riding center before the multi-day progressive trail unfolds. The riding center can be found only 1 hour from Salzburg and is tucked into the quaint forest and
meadows nearby the little town of Mattinghofen, resting at the bottom of a lazy hill and stretching down to
the Mattig River and the romantic Schwemmbach Brook. Riding out from our little hideaway, the trail is suited to riders with fair
experience in the saddle, but is not so strenuous that we forget that we
are on a vacation meant to take in the amazing landscapes and
make lasting memories. Explore
the forests of the Innviertel, discover and appreciate the small traditional villages, pristine lakes and enchanting forests from the best vantage point in the world: The back of a horse! When you are not astride your valiant mount, the excellent cuisine, warm hospitality and culture of the region will keep you smiling until your pleasantly tired head rests upon on the pillow each night. Your professional guides and wonderful hosts Claudia and Rudi promise to take good
care of you and the horses on this relaxing horseback week!

Austria enjoys a temperate Central European climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are hot with cool nights. In Vienna and other low-lying cities temperatures during the day can get uncomfortably hot over July and August. Winters are cold, below freezing in January and February. The ski season in the Alps runs from December to April but the mountains are also popular with hikers and climbers over the summer when the weather is usually warm and bright.
