Thompson-Nicola Guest Ranch

Thompson-Nicola Guest Ranch
British Columbia Canada

This adult-oriented vacation guest ranch brings together people from all over the world who share a love of horses and adventure in the great outdoors. Located in the interior of beautiful British Columbia, horseback riding is of course the main activity. The wide variety of rides and trails available in the area allows us to cater to all levels of riding experience. The horses are well trained and familiar in trail riding in the local terrain and all rides are led by experienced wranglers and trail guides. There are some wonderful horses that you’ll fall in love with. Guests are welcome to spend time at the barn and get to know the horses they’ll be riding. The mountains around the ranch have an extensive network of active and inactive logging roads and cattle trails through the bush to nearby lakes and streams and up into the alpine. There is a selection of rides that vary in duration from a couple of hours to all day rides. The pace of the rides varies with the terrain and the experience and preferences of the group. Riding lessons are also offered in the riding arena. Whether you’re a novice rider looking to improve your riding or an experienced rider who wants to blaze the trails at a faster pace, we’ll make sure you get an exhilarating day in the saddle.
The lodge is the center of all activities with breathtaking views over the Louis Creek Valley. This is where guests will gather for meals, activities relaxing and socializing when they’re not out on the trail. The resident chef will provide wholesome, quality meals with an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal produce. Meals are served family style with guests and staff eating together, so you get to know everyone. To wind down and relax after the days activities, dinner will start with happy hour. Complimentary Canadian Beers, BC wines and snacks will be served and then, to satisfy that huge appetite you will have earned after a days riding, dinner is a 3 course feast of home style cooking, again accompanied by BC wines and Canadian beers. On chef's night off we enjoy a real cowboy dinner as the Wranglers take charge of grilling juicy steaks on the BBQ.
The lodge and cabins have been designed for comfort whilst having a natural, rustic look to them. The services and amenities are high quality with just a touch of luxury. The spacious cabins are well equipped to ensure your comfort during your stay.  In addition to the horseback rides, the ranch offers a variety of on-site activities and facilities for you to enjoy during your stay. These include hiking and mountain biking trails, a horseshoe pitch, a games rooms with shuffleboard, a pool table, a card table, dice and board games, a TV lounge with a DVD library/satellite TV, and a fireside lounge with book and magazine library. Internet access is also available at the ranch.
Close by are the towns of Kamloops and Barriere and Sun Peaks Resort is only 15 minutes, offering a variety of summer activities including hiking trails, biking trails (cross country & downhill), 18-hole golf course, ATV tours, kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
