Transfer Option:

There are many different rides available that vary in duration from a couple of hours to all day rides. We ride on old logging roads and cattle trails high up into the mountain alpine, crossing streams and riding along the creeks.

Typical 7 day Itinerary

Day 1 Fly into Kamloops airport where you will be met and taken to the ranch. After settling into your cabin, come to the lodge for some light refreshments and meet your fellow guests

Day 2 After breakfast we'll take a 2 hour ride on old logging roads returning to the ranch for lunch. Lunch will be taken on the deck and followed by another 2 hour ride in a different direction following a cattle trail. Return to the ranch in the afternoon for cold, refreshing lemonade or beer and home-baked cookies. Relax on the deck or try a game of horseshoes before freshening up for pre-dinner drinks and canapes, followed by a delicious 3 course dinner in our dining room.

Day 3 After a hearty breakfast we will take a 3 hour ride through thick forest and ride to our secret creekside location for a BBQ lunch. Guests who want to continue riding after lunch, will take off up the mountain, whilst those who want to relax for the afternoon can return to the ranch and lounge around the deck with a good book or take a hike on one of our marked trails.

Day 4 Take an all day ride to the lake with a picnic lunch taken on the trail in your saddle bag. Return to the ranch in time for pre-dinner drinks. After dinner, we will light a campfire outside the lodge where we'll sit around and recant tales from the days ride. The taller the story, the more credit you will get! Fancy a sing-a-long, then grab the guitar and start us off - we guarantee your fellow guests will join in.

Day 5 Another day in the saddle with more trails to explore. If you're feeling saddle sore and need a day off, then we can arrange for you to go kayaking on one of the nearby lakes, or take in a round of golf at one of the 13 golf courses nearby. It's chef's day off so dinner tonight will be a real cowboy experience as the Wranglers take charge of cooking delicious steaks grilled on the BBQ and served with all the trimmings you’d expect.

Day 6 This morning we will have a light breakfast and head off early on the trail. After a couple of hours in the saddle, we'll meet up with the chef at our bush brunch location and enjoy a mid-morning feast. This afternoon is an opportunity for you to visit the nearby towns, or go mountain biking on the marked trails around the ranch. If you want a more exhilarating mountain biking experience, visit Sun Peaks Resort for their awesome downhill trails.

Day 7 After breakfast, say goodbye to your newfound friends, and begin your onward journey with many happy memories

Riding instruction in our arena is also available. Whether you’re a novice rider looking to improve your riding or an experienced rider who wants to blaze the trails at a faster pace, we’ll make sure you get an exhilarating day in the saddle.

Take a walk along the creek; Maggie our ranch dog will join you if you’d like company. Or maybe hike out into the bush on one of our marked trails. You’re welcome to bring your mountain bike with you and explore the trails directly behind the ranch. Out on the deck relax with a good book in one of our sun loungers. Just in front of the lodge is our horseshoe pitch. In the lodge, we have a large recreation area with a shuffleboard and a pool table. We also have a variety of board games, card and dice – we even provide the gaming chips. If you need a bit of peace and quiet, curl up in an armchair in front of the fireplace in our cozy lounge with a good book or magazine. Or maybe you fancy watching a movie in our TV lounge – we’ll even provide the popcorn!

Summer (June to mid-September) can reach temperatures 25+ degrees (Celsius) with the odd rainstorm and relatively low humidity Summer weather is sunny with clear skies and warm temperature.

Spring and Fall can be cool with beautiful  sunny days, but has colder nights and a cooler winds. Fall is mild and offers  a gorgeous palette of fall colors.

In Winter the temperature can drop as low as -35°C and the wind chill factor can make it feel even colder. They are treated to around 3ft of snow during the winter which usually stays with us until March.

The Lodge

Whilst the ranch dates back to the 1890’s, the lodge and guest cabins were newly constructed in 2009 by an Award Winning local team, the lodge and cabins are a real blend of the modern and traditional. The purpose built lodge is the place where guests will gather for meals, activities and socializing when they’re not out on the trail. Our dress code here is casual – all the time.
The dining room features a legendary 100 sq.ft. custom crafted dining table that everyone can sit around to enjoy the mouth-watering feasts prepared by the resident Chef. The games room is equipped with a pool table, shuffleboard and card table. There are cards, dice games, and a selection of board games for you to enjoy. We even provide the gaming chips. Help yourself to a cold beer or glass of wine from our bar fridge.

Just want to relax? Then curl on one of the sofas or armchairs in front of the fire in the lounge. There is a library of books and magazines that you can enjoy during your stay. Or maybe you’d like to watch a movie from our DVD library featuring over 100 of the most popular western and horse related movies. There is a small TV lounge just for that purpose, and we’ll even provide the popcorn.

For those that need to stay in touch we have a PC with free internet access for guest use and wireless internet access is available throughout the lodge. So although your cell phone won’t work out here, you can still check your onward reservations or keep in touch with home.

At the rear of the lodge is a complimentary guest laundry facility.

Dining

Dining is a special experience. The resident chef creates wholesome, home-cooked meals with an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal produce. Combining the healthy with the hearthy, this is gourmet cooking with a ranch twist. Meals are served family style with guests and staff eating together, so you get to know everyone.
A hearty breakfast will be served in the dining room every morning before the rides depart. There will always be a selection of cereals, toast, bagels, muffins and pastries and fresh fruit. To give you the energy to sustain you to lunch time, Chef will also rustle up a hot dish of bacon and eggs or maybe pancakes.
Lunch is usually an outdoor feast, either taken on the ride or enjoyed on the deck. When taking lunch at the ranch, the Chef provides a variety of soups, deli-style sandwiches, pasta dishes and salads all served with fresh home baked breads and followed with a light desert. Out on the trail, picnic lunches will be carried in your saddle bags and might include sandwiches, fruit and cookies.
To wind down and relax after the days activities, dinner will start with happy hour. Complimentary Canadian Beers, BC wines and snacks will be served and then to satisfy that huge appetite you will have earned after a days riding, dinner is a 3-course feast of home style cooking, again accompanied by BC wines and Canadian beers.
Several times during the week, we will enjoy dinner outdoors as the Chef enjoys a well-earned night off and we enjoy a real Cowboy dinner as the Wranglers take charge of cooking delicious steaks grilled on the BBQ and served with all the trimmings you’d expect.
Coffee, soft drinks and snacks are always available.

The Guest Cabins

Just because you’re out in the wilderness doesn’t mean you have to rough it. The spacious cabins are nestled in small clearings amongst the trees. Each one is furnished with custom-designed, hand constructed, log furniture made a local craftsman. A real blend of the traditional and modern, each cabin has a full bathroom complete with tub and shower and an endless supply of hot water. The rustic style furniture complemented with pillow top mattresses and feather duvets and pillows provide our guests with an experience that is luxuriously rustic. The cabins all have a wide covered porch perfect for relaxing or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee.
(If you need anti-allergy bedding, please let us know in advance and we will provide it).

In each cabin we provide plenty of over-sized soft fluffy towels and a hairdryer. We also provide a small fridge, coffee making facilities and basket of goodies in case you get the nibbles.
In your bathroom we provide toiletries made from natural products that includes shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bath salts, soap, hand and body lotion.
We offer a non-smoking environment and smoking is not permitted in the lodge or cabins. Smoking is permitted on decks and porches at the lodge and cabins.

This trip includes some wine with dinner and can accommodate special dietary requests.

Passports
Passport valid for at least one day beyond the intended departure date from Canada required by all nationals referred to in the chart except the following:
(a) 1. Canadian citizens holding a Canadian Certificate of Identity, Canadian birth certificate or a certificate of Canadian citizenship;
(b) permanent residents of Canada with proof of status, ie Permanent Resident Card, Record of Landing, Returning Resident Permit or a Refugee Travel Document issued by the government of Canada to refugees who have been resettled in Canada;
(c) 2. citizens of the USA holding proof of citizenship (eg US birth certificate or US naturalisation papers).
Note: As of 23 January 2007 all persons, including US citizens, travelling by air between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport or other approved document when entering or re-entering the USA. Similar requirements for those travelling by land or sea will be introduced as early as 1 January 2008. (d) persons entering from St Pierre & Miquelon or the USA who are legal permanent residents of the USA and hold a US alien registration card (Green Card);
(e) 3. citizens of France who are residents of and entering from St Pierre & Miquelon.
Note: (a) Children under 18 years must have information with them on the people responsible for their welfare, if travelling alone; this includes a letter of permission to travel from guardian(s), and also a letter from the custodian in Canada. (b) Depending on circumstance and nationality, certain applicants may need to undergo a medical examination in order to receive their visas; this must be carried out by a physician on Canada's list of Designated Medical Practitioners.
Passport Note
Visitors to Canada must satisfy an examining officer at the Port of Entry that they are genuine visitors, in good health, with no criminal convictions, and have sufficient funds to maintain themselves during their stay in Canada and to return to their country of origin, as well as evidence of confirmed onward reservations out of Canada. Persons under 18 years of age who are unaccompanied by an adult should bring with them a letter from a parent or guardian giving them permission to travel to Canada.

Identity/travel documents issued to non-national residents of the country of issue, refugees or stateless persons are recognized for travel to Canada.

Visas
Not required by all nationals referred to in chart above (visitor or transit) for stays of up to six months except the following:
(a) 4. holders of passports endorsed ‘British Subjects’ and ‘British Protected Persons’;
(b) 5. nationals of Bulgaria and Romania;
(c) those visiting Canada who, during that visit, also visit the USA or St Pierre & Miquelon (a French Overseas Territory) and return directly to Canada as visitors within the period authorised on their initial entry (or any extension thereto).

Visa Note
The Government of Canada refuses admission to: (a) holders of passports issued by the UK Government entitled 'British Temporary Resident's Passport'.

(a) A single-entry visa is still valid if used to visit the USA. (b) Persons wishing to attend a course of six months duration or less, at any level, do not require a study permit. However, if there is the possibility that you will extend your period of study in Canada, or if you are a full time student and wish to work on campus, you may apply for a study permit.
Types of Visa and Cost
Visitor: C$75 (single-entry); C$150 (multiple-entry). Family: C$400 (for families of six or more persons). Transit: free. Transit visas are necessary for all nationals who require a visitor visa. Although transit visas are not required by British citizens, they may be required by foreign nationals with British passports; check with the embassy or high commission for details. For further information on payment methods, contact the high commission. Prices are subject to frequent change.
Validity
Up to six months depending on circumstances of individual applicant. The determination regarding length of stay in Canada can only be decided by the examining officer at the port of entry, but visas cannot exceed the validity of the passport and cannot be longer than five years. If no actual departure date is indicated within the visitor’s passport, then the visitor will be required to depart within three months from the date of entry. Visitors must effect their departure from Canada on or before the date authorised by the examining officer on arrival. If an extension of stay is desired, an application must be made in writing to the nearest Canada Immigration Centre at least three weeks before the expiry of the visitor visa. Multiple-entry visas cannot be valid longer than passport. Transit visas are only allocated if a national's flight/onward journey is continuing within 24 hours. Single-entry visas can be used multiple times by nationals of St Pierre & Miquelon and the USA.

10 days are required from receiving applications, but applications should be made at least one month prior to the intended date of departure. Certain nationals are subject to longer processing times. For urgent applications it is advised to apply in person. Same-day processing is available for applications made in person and 24-hour processing for those using the drop-in service.
