Passport and Visa Requirements:
Passport valid for at least three months from date of departure from Turkey required by all nationals referred to in the chart, except: 1. nationals of Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Liechtens. more
On average, 300 days of uninterrupted sun per year and few days of rain. The region only averages 55.5 days of rain per year with 75% of this occurring in the winter months, Spring and Autumn sees 16% of this and Summer only 2%.
Summers are essentially 8 to 9 months long. April sees an average temperature of 16 degrees, rising to 28 degrees by July and August, 21 degrees in October and returning to a still pleasant 16 degrees in November.
July and August give rise to scorching summer heat, with the relentless sun belting out temperatures of above and over 40 degrees.
Though these maximum temperatures are harsh, the Mediterranean Sea breezes and north easterly winds from the inland provide welcome relief. The cool breeze that blows through the city off the sea is particularly refreshing, and the soft westerly wind known locally as the ‘Dokkun’ blows through the town toward the sea and cools the city in the evenings.
The Winter months of December through until March witness average temperatures of 12 to 13 degrees, and maintain an average humidity of about 64% which reasonably high. The average low for December and March sits at 8 degrees, falling to 6 degrees in the months of January and February. December and January are also the wettest months, receiving 238mm monthly precipitation each on average.
