Patagonia Glacier Ride

Patagonia Glacier Ride
Southern Patagonia Argentina
This new and exciting ride starts from an authentic estancia in "Los Glaciares" the beautiful and wild national park along the banks of the Southern Arm of Lago (Lake) Argentino. Covering an impressive area of more than 12,000 hectares, it stretches out to the border Argentina shares with Chile. The estancia was formerly devoted to sheep production and currently still maintains a small herd, but its chief output has become the breeding of Hereford cattle, of which they boast a most prestigious herd. Enjoy three days at the estancia with two breathtaking all-day-rides to the surrounding mountain tops before departing on an adventurous 3-day, 2-night exploration of the remote corners of Los Glaciares National Park.

Here, nature is discovered in its maximum expression, ever pristine, an exquisite combination of Andean woodland, crystal blue lakes, impressive mountains, open skies and breath taking glaciers. To be on horseback is a great privilege as we have the opportunity to discover amazing places that no vehicle can reach. Here civilization melts away and we become a part of the immense wilderness. Along the trail we have the chance to see into the lifestyle of the rangers and their livestock, in communion with the countryside. We learn of the pioneers and adventurers who are forever a part of this area’s history, back when there were no roads at all and these tracks and paths were only recently marked in the virgin landscape. The two night trek overnights at a typical ranger outpost that is also used as a refuge for mountain climbers resting en route to their destined peak or glacier. On this ride you will be privy to magnificent views of the Glaciers of Frías, Gorra, Grande and Dickson during the expedition. Certain departures may coincide with cattle or sheep drives and livestock work in the corrals!
