Travel restrictions
As of September 1st 2020, international tourists may enter Namibia through Hosea Kutako International airport only.
Effective March 17th 2022, fully vaccinated travelers are no longer required to produce a negative PCR test result upon arrival at a Namibian Points of Entry, but are instead required to present an authentic, valid vaccination card at Point of Entry.
Non–Namibians who are not fully vaccinated, must present a negative PCR test result. However, in cases of arrival without a COVID-19 test result or with a positive result, s/he will be swabbed immediately upon arrival and placed in quarantine until the new test result comes out negative, after which time they will be released from quarantine.
Measures taken by the government
Effective March 17th 2022, wearing of masks in public places is no longer mandatory. However, people who are in close settings, such as public transport, indoor public meetings are encouraged to wear masks. Physical distance of no less than 1 meter must be maintained between persons at all times.
On July 15th 2022, President Hage Geingob announced the removal of all in-country restrictions imposed due to Covid-19.
Testing
Travelers can obtain a COVID-19 test in Namibia from the private laboratory PathCare, which has multiple locations throughout the country. Testing is paid for by the tourist and costs N$850.00.
COVID-19 test results from PathCare are emailed and sent via SMS to the individual who was tested.
PathCare tests individuals for the purpose of travel by appointment only.
FeedMasters (Namib Laboratories) is now offering a drive through COVID 19 testing facility at the Wanderers Sport Grounds in Pionierspark in Windhoek.
There is no need to make an appointment for this service.
Fees at the drive though testing site are: COVID testing (results 24 hours) – N$ 980.00; and COVID speed test (results 5 hours) – N$ 3,500.00
