Two Creek Ranch is a family-owned working cattle ranch. We run 700+ mother cows on 30,000+ acres of land. The winter and spring range is located 8 miles south of Douglas, nestled along the North Platte River, with the LaBonte and Wagonhound Creeks winding through parts of the rolling pastureland. The Oregon Trail straddles a portion of the range, where the ruts remain visible today. We have three summer ranges, one 15 miles North of Douglas, one 20 miles East of Glendo and the other 75 miles Southwest of Douglas on the Laramie Plains. We are one of the last working cattle ranches offering an authentic western cattle drive. We invite you to share this life with us on seven different cattle-moving experiences, or you may prefer to come and share some "Daly" ranch life. Sample Itinerary - subject to changes

February to April (minimum 4 days 3 nights -- please inquire for rates and availaiblity)
Our year's activities start with calving. We start calving in February and continue through April. To join us during calving season would be a unique experience. Plan to stay at least 3 nights and 4 days. You will be staying at our guest lodge.

April 25 - 31 (7 days and 6 nights)
If you like to be outside and enjoy seeing the awakening of spring then this event is for you. We will round up 250+ mother cows and their calves and trail them 10 to 15 miles to spring pasture where green grass awaits them. We take smaller groups as the calves are slower to move. We usually cross the LaBonte Creek and trail on the cliff trail, or if the creek is too high we'll trail to the bridge. We also travel to our place on Cottonwood Creek to brand the calves.

May 13-16 in 2027 (4 days and 3 nights) - second Thursday to Sunday in May of every year
Branding week: For the ranch this is the social event of the year , as neighbors join together for branding. We brand in the traditional western way, by roping off of horseback and wrestling the calves. We invite you to join and share with us this western experience.  

July 25-29 (5 days and 4 nights)
We will roundup cows and calves and trail them to new pastures. The bulls will be removed and trailed to a separate pasture or trucked home. Riding will take place on the Laramie Plains and at the main ranch.

August 1-7 (7 days, 6 nights)
We will gather the heifers and pregnancy test at the cow camp corrals. We will also pregnancy test at our Medicine Bow pasture and then haul the open heifers back to Douglas.

September 1-8 (8 days and 7 nights)
We will be getting our calves ready for market at this time. Cows and calves will be gathered, calves weighed, and shots given preparing them for shipping. Time will be spent at cow camp, at the main ranch, and our place on Cottonwood Creek where we also pregnancy test the cows.

September 21 - 28 (8 days and 7 nights) 
Cattle are gathered and trailed to corrals where steers will be weighed and loaded on the trucks to be sold. Time will be spent on the Laramie Plains, Cottonwood Creek and the main ranch.

Seasons
Wyoming has a dry, continental climate, with cold winters and warm summers. Warm Chinook winds from the Rockies modify some of the winter weather of the eastern plains. Wide temperature ranges exist in the state because of differences in elevation. For example, January mean temperatures range from a low of about 10 °F (–12 °C) in the mountains to the upper 20s F (about –2 °C) in the southeast. Mean July temperatures range from the low 50s F (about 10 °C) in the mountains to the mid-70s F (about 24 °C) in the Bighorn Basin in north-central Wyoming.

Average annual precipitation (rain and melted snow) varies from 6 inches (15 centimeters) in the Bighorn Basin to about 31 inches (79 centimeters) in the Tetons.

Whether you wear new cowboy duds or an old pair of jeans, you'll need a rain slicker, a hat, boots, gloves, and layered clothing you can take off or put on as conditions change. Bandanas are not just for Hollywood cowboys, you will be glad to have one to cover your mouth and nose when riding drag with the wind howling and the dust flying in your face. Real cowboys even use chapstick and sunscreen.

There is no electricity on the trail, so leave those blow dryers, curling irons, shavers, and radios at home.
We carry a generator to charge batteries in the evenings. This is the only electricity we will have on the trail to charge phones.
Your cellular phones won’t work here either. Besides, you’re on vacation!

Accommodation
During the cattle drive you will stay at our guest lodge and cow camp.

Main Ranch
You will be staying at our guest lodge, where there is one private room, three multi-bed rooms and a loft with capabilities of sleeping up to twenty-four people. Facilities are shared. There is free WiFi  and it is possible to do your own laundry if needed.

Cow Camp
There is a big dormitory room with seven single beds, two private bedrooms and three travel trailers. Facilities are shared.

Camping
If you join us for one of the cattle drives there are travel trailers for sleeping. If you would like to sleep outside you must bring your own tent. No showers are available while camping. You will need a sleeping bag.


Meals
All meals are included in this trip.

Breakfast: Juice, either an egg dish or pancakes, breakfast meats, toast, coffee or tea.
Lunch: Soup, sandwiches, fresh fruit & veggies, potato chips, cookies, etc.
Dinner: Beef dish, potato dish, vegetable dish, salad, fruit and dessert.

Guests must provide their own favorite beverage/alcohol, which can be purchased prior to arriving a the ranch.

On real cattle drives no special accommodations are made for paying guests, you pay to be treated the same as the help. Travel trailers are provided along the trail, several pickup trucks also make the trip and you may choose to ride in a vehicle for a day. For more comfort, though perhaps a bit less adventure, choose an event where we return to the lodge at night, or one that offers a variety of cattle ranching events in addition to trailing the cows. A shower and other plumbing facilities may be near at hand, or clean-up possibilities may consist of water dipped from an icy brook. All of that is incidental. You are here to accomplish a purposeful job with the cowboys, and you may as well decide in advance that however they do it is good enough for you. 
 
 

Passports

Valid passport required by all nationals referred to in the chart ; validity varies - for most countries the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date on which the holder enters the USA. If not, the holder will be admitted until the expiration date on the passport; check with the embassy (see Contact Addresses).

Passport Note

(a) For nationals included in the Visa Waiver Program (see below), passports must be valid for at least 90 days from date of entry.

(b) All travellers entering the USA under the Visa Waiver Program require individual machine-readable passports. Children included on a parent's passport also now require their own machine-readable passport. Travellers not in possession of machine-readable passports will require a valid USA entry visa.

(c) Passports issued on or after 26 October 2005 will need to have a biometric identifier in order for the holder to travel visa free under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Machine-readable passports issued between 26 October 2005 and 25 October 2006 require a digital photograph printed on the data page or an integrated chip with information from the data page. Machine-readable passports issued on or after 26 October 2006 will require an integrated chip with information from the data page (e-passport).



The US has announced new measures that require all travellers to provide details online 72 hours prior to travel.

ESTA: The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) came into force on 12 January 2009. It is a fully automated, electronic system for screening passengers before they begin travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. ESTA applications must be submitted at least 72 hours before travel to the USA. Some websites may charge you for the service but you can apply online for free at www.dhs.gov. The granting of an ESTA does not guarantee entry to the USA.

 

New Requirements for Travellers: As of 23 January 2007 all persons, including US citizens, travelling by air between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport, or other approved document, when entering or re-entering the USA. Similar requirements for those travelling by land or sea will be introduced on 1 June 2009.

Visas

Not required by nationals referred to in the chart above for stays of up to 90 days except:

1. nationals of Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania and Slovak Republic, who do require a visa.

Visa Note

(a) Landed Immigrants of Canada and British residents of Bermuda who are citizens of, and have valid passports from, Commonwealth countries or Ireland are not eligible to enter the USA without a visa. (b) All passengers using US airports for transit purposes are required to obtain a transit visa. This does not affect qualified travellers travelling visa free under the Visa Waiver Program. (d) To qualify for visa-free travel under the Visa Waiver Program, nationals must travel on a valid passport, for holiday, transit or business purposes only and for a stay not exceeding 90 days. (e) Passengers must have the full address and ZIP code of where they are staying in the USA to be able to fully complete the I-94W form. Note: Airlines are also required to collect passenger details, including the address of their first night's accommodation in the USA, before they board the aircraft. (f) 2. Holders of UK passports with the endorsement British Subject, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Protected Person, British Overseas Citizen or British National (Overseas) Citizen do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program. A passport which states holder has right of abode or indefinite leave to remain in the UK does not qualify for visa free travel. (g) A visa does not expire with the expiry of the holder’s passport. An unexpired, endorsed visa in an expired passport may be presented for entry into the USA, as long as the visa itself has not been cancelled, is undamaged, is less than 10 years old and is presented with a valid non-expired passport, provided that both passports are for the same nationality. (h) Nationals of countries not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact the embassy to check visa requirements (see Contact Addresses).

Validity

Visas may be used for travel to the USA until the date it expires. Some visas are valid for multiple entries. The length of stay in the USA is determined by US immigration officials at the time of entry but is generally six months; there is, however, no set time.
