Due to COVID-19 Corona virus pandemic and certain travel restrictions we are applying some temporary policy changes to some of our tours.

For Castle Leslie Equestrian Escape (IT-IRSR04-3):

We are closed until further notice due to the most recent government announcement.  For 2021, once we do reopen, our opening days of the week will now be Thurs – Sun only and if this changes, we will of course let you know.

The entire country is on lockdown. We’re hoping that we will be back open by March but we cannot say definitely as we are essentially ‘controlled’ by what the government says. We are expecting an update from the government by the end of February.
The 14 day quarantine rule is still in place in Ireland and we think it will remain this way for a number of months.  People can opt to get a Covid test before they travel but you still have to quarantine on arrival into Ireland for 14 days, even if you test negative.

We have implemented changes to make our hotel safer, without diminishing the atmosphere and our friendly service.

Following updated government guidance you are asked to wear a face-covering whilst using the indoor public areas unless you are seated at a table.

We have successfully completed the Failte Ireland approved COVID-19 Safety Charter which means we are confirming that:
-We are following the recommended cleaning and safety guidelines.
-All staff has completed hygiene and safety control training.
-We are subject to being spot-checked.

Finally, in terms of the riding that we will be offering, due to social distancing we will only be able to cater for intermediate to advanced riders until further notice.  Regrettably we will not be able to facilitate beginners or novice riders.

Here are some ways we are supporting our team:
- Prior to returning to work, all employees will complete online training in line with our return to work safety protocol to include enhanced Covid-19 awareness with certification a prerequisite to a return to the workplace.
- Ongoing training: Our employees will receive training on housekeeping, hand hygiene and Covid-19 protocols introduced within the hotel.
- Our team members are trained and briefed to report all guests presenting Covid-19 symptoms on property to the Covid-19 committee. This allows us to take immediate action to assess their medical condition and ensure guests can self isolate in their room or be referred to a medical facility for further assessment.

Our team is practicing ‘social distancing’ from team colleagues and guests, where possible. The Health Service Executive is recommending that we keep a space of 2 meters between each other and to reduce the number of people we meet everyday.

Cleaning products and protocols:
A cleaning and frequent sanitising program for all public areas and high touch points is in place throughout the estate. We use industry leading cleaning and sanitising products and protocols mandated by Irish and European authorities that have been approved for use against viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens.

Guest Rooms:
All linen is washed to medical grade procedures. In light of measures required to minimise hard surface touch points in our bedrooms, steps have been taken to remove or modify various standard items from the bedrooms.
Cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean and sanitise rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch
items like remote controls, televisions, telephones, kettles, hair dryers, seat backs, door handles, light switches, table tops, ironing boards, safes, taps, toilet handles and seats. Should you require additional amenity items, these can be delivered promptly to your guest room by contacting our reception team.

Public Spaces:
We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the surfaces of our front desks, lifts (and lifts buttons), door handles, public bathrooms, bar and table tops, chair rails, and shared computer keyboards. We are sanitising our restaurants, guest rooms, bar and public spaces with disinfecting fogging units.

Temperature Checking programme:
In the interest of mitigating risk to our guests and staff, anyone entering Castle Leslie Estate will have their temperature taken.
This is a very quick process using a laser body temperature reader. If the temperature reading is 38 degrees Celsius or above, guidance will be given to seek
further medical advice.

Guidelines for guests:
Consider the following advice on how to protect yourself from COVID-19 infection.

1. Wash your hands properly and regularly:
- Before and after eating or drinking
- After going to the toilet, nose blowing, sneezing or coughing
- After cleaning procedures, handling waste and waste bins
- After handling contaminated (dirty) items
- Whenever hands become visibly dirty

2. If in contact with a sick person, especially those with respiratory symptoms;
- Cover mouth when coughing and sneezing:
- Cover nose and mouth with disposable tissues. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your arm or sleeve (not hand)
- Place used tissues into a sealed bin – wash your hands
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
- Review travel guidance from your own country’s Department of Foreign Affairs and the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs
