National Rodeo and Folkloric Music Festival   January 9th - January 20th, 2020
Jesus Maria (approx 1hr from the Estancia)
This festival combines two of the gauchos biggest loves – horses and music. The national rodeo championships are combined with the best in Argentine folklore music at this annual spectacle. In addition to the scheduled events there is a large fair outside of the arena selling all sorts of local goods. If you are staying at the Estancia this week we take guests down one evening for supper and to watch the rodeo. Find out more at www.festival.org.ar
Special offer: For guests staying 7 nights or more during the festival we often organize a night at the rodeo, including transport, entrance fee and supper.

Dia de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria   2 February 2020
Estancia, neighboring rural church
This very traditional local event is a celebration of the Virgin Mary. After the mass a statue of the Virgin Mary is carried through the grounds in the stations of the cross, both with followers on foot and a gaucho cavalcade on horseback.
Special offer: For guests staying with us over this date, we include a day picnic ride to visit the church and see the gaucho procession.

Annual Yerra (Cattle Branding)   usually late February/early March
Estancia
The estancia is one of the increasingly few estancias in Argentina that still carries out the annual cattle branding in traditional style. Taking place over a full weekend, this is a true community event where local gauchos gather to show-off their prowess in the corrals, lassoing the young stock for branding in preparation for market.
Special offer: For guests staying over this date, there will be the chance to watch the gauchos in action in the corrals, and to take part in the festivities afterwards with a traditional asado at the cattle station.

Independence Day gaucho parade   9 July 2020
Salta city
Across Argentina gauchos gather together to parade through the streets of their local towns on horseback to commemorate Argentina winning its independence from the Spanish. One of the biggest parades and certainly one of the most spectacular takes place in Salta, where over 3000 gauchos gather to celebrate, they and their horses dressed in their finest.
