Sample Itinerary (4 days 3 nights) - subject to changes

We reserve the right to alter routes, itineraries or timetables should the necessity arise. The estimated duration of tours as indicated by km can change according to road or weather conditions.

Please note that it is possible to add or remove Riding days to this program (inquire for more information).

Day 1:  Þingvellir National Park - Friðheimar Greenhouse Restaurant – Horse Riding
Pick up at 9 am at your hotel in Reykjavík. Please be ready in your riding clothes at pick up. We drive to Þingvellir National Park which is on the Unesco Heritage Site our guide will tell us all about. We also go for a short walk "in between the continents" before enjoying a lovely lunch at renowned Friðheimar Greenhouse Restaurant before visiting their stables where they will inform us about the Icelandic horse breed and display all the gaits. From there is a short transfer to a local horse farm for your first private ride.
After an introduction into the safety issues, tack and gaits of the Icelandic horse we set off for a lovely gentle ride over good tölting tracks through the lush countryside. After the ride we drive to Hotel Geysir where we stay for next 2 nights.

Day 2:  Geysir hot spring – Gullfoss Waterfall – Forrest Ride - Soak in the Secret lagoon
Since we are staying at hotel Geysir, we can go and admire the hot spring area without the crowd. Perfect f.ex. early morning or in the evening. This morning we start by driving to Gullfoss Waterfall or the Golden Waterfall before the crowd arrives. After spending some time in the area our next stop will be at a horse farm where we go for a private ride into Haukadalur forest and many other beautiful rivers and fields, we offer you to experience a truly nature-oriented ride. Be prepared to cross some rivers and ride deeply into Icelandic nature! This is a 3 hours ride but after the ride there is a short drive to one of the oldest geothermal pool in Iceland or the Secret Lagoon where we ease up our muscles after the ride before driving back to hotel.

Day 3:  Waterfalls – Glaciers and Black Beach ride
After a heartful breakfast we check out and say goodbye to hotel Geysir. Today we enjoy sightseeing tour along the Southshore, visiting the mighty Skógafoss waterfall, Dyrhólaey bird sanctuary where we might spot some puffins and village of Vík where we enjoy lunch. On our way back we stop at a horse farm and enjoy riding to the black beach. We start at the farm and head south towards the ocean. Along the way, we will cross several rivers and fields before reaching the beautiful Black Beach and the vast Atlantic Ocean. If we are fortunate, we may see a curious seal popping its head up to greet us! We can also enjoy a canter in the soft black sand before making our way back to the farm. After the ride we visit Seljalandsfoss waterfall (without the crowd) and take a walk behind the fall. From there is only a short drive to our hotel where we stay for one night.

Day 4: Countryside River Ride – Sky Lagoon
After breakfast we check out and drive to our last farm (but not the least) for a 3 hours ride along the Rangá river banks. This is a beautiful ride that takes you longer next to the beautiful and quiet river Rangá, crossing several times little rivers going into the Rangá river. Riding through green meadows and next to an old lava field. After the ride we drive back to Reykjavik but before checking in at our hotel we enjoy our last bath together and the renowned Sky Lagoon where the sea meet the sky. Tour ends at your hotel in Reykjavik.

Sample Itinerary (3 days 2 nights) - subject to changes

Day 1:  Friðheimar Greenhouse Restaurant – Gullfoss Waterfall - Horse Riding - Geysir
Pick up at 9 am at your hotel in Reykjavík. Please be ready in your riding clothes at pick up. Our first stop today will be a Friðheimar stable where we learn everything about the Icelandic horse and enjoy a show of their gaits. From there is a short transfer to a local horse farm for your first private ride. Riding Level Explained
ABeginner
Beginner A rider who has limited experience, is unable to post the trot and does not canter.
BNovice
Novice A rider who is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable and in control at the walk, moderate length posting trots, and short canters.
CIntermediate
Intermediate A rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
D Strong Intermediate
Strong Intermediate An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.
EAdvanced
All of the above, plus an independent seat, soft hands, and capable of handlinga spirited horse in open country.
Lodging: Standard
