Kilimanjaro Big Game Trail

Accomodations for Kilimanjaro Big Game Trail

This is a wilderness ride, so nights will be a mixture of guesthouses and camping.

You will spend 2 nights in cottages at the farm and 5 nights camping. Below you'll find the proposed locations, however the exact location always depends on wildlife movements - Tanzania remains unfenced and animals move freely. Our aim is to show our guests as much wildlife as possible and therefore we will adapt the locations whenever required to reach this goal.

Accommodation Itinerary - subject to changes based on availability
Night 1 & 7: The Farm
Night 2 & 3: Camping at the border of Arusha NP
Night 4: Camping in Masailand
Night 5 & 6: Camping in Enduimet

The Farm
The farm is an intimate small lodge, is located on a lovingly restored old coffee estate. We accommodate our guests in comfortable, spacious cottages, most of which feature a spectacular view of Mount Kilimanjaro. We have 5 cottages total: 4 with double beds and 1 family guest house with 2 double and 1 single bed). All cottages have en-suite bathroom, private verandah, early morning tea-coffee service for wake-up-call, and laundry service.
There is no open Wi-Fi internet access available on the farm. So make sure during your stay your will survive without permanent online connection or you may purchase a internet-enabled sim card for your own smartphone/i-Pad which you can get in the next town. Registration by id-card and fingerprints is required if purchasing a local sim card.

Spacious tents of 3m x 3.80m are equipped with comfortable beds and linen, private verandah, and en-suite bath tent with toilet, sink and a shower, which the crew fills up with hot water every night.

Room Occupancy
Single supplement fee is waived if the rider is willing to stay in a smaller tent with bath facilities next to the tent on camping nights.

All meals are included from lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on the last day.

Meals are prepared fresh and most of the ingredients are produced on the farm. This includes most vegetables, meat, milk and milk products. There will be fresh home-baked bread on your table every morning. There will also be home-made confectionary available in the afternoon.
Lunch will usually be taken en route at a scenic place (on a hill, under an acacia tree, etc). Breakfast and dinner will usually be taken in camp, depending on the weather and temperature this might be in the mess tent or again at a scenic place near camp.

Depending on the schedule, lunch will be served in camp or under a shady tree as a picnic.

Non-alcoholic drinks like water, homemade juices, tea, coffee available throughout the day. For safety considerations we will not serve alcohol for lunch if a riding itinerary is scheduled for the afternoon. If no riding then beer or wine can be served for lunch. In the evening there will be sunset drinks, and beer and wine with dinner.

Dietary Restrictions
We can cater to most dietary restrictions if given prior notice.

This trip includes some wine with dinner and can accommodate special dietary requests.
