Sierra Nevada Pack Trip

Itinerary for Sierra Nevada Pack Trip

Your arrival and meeting at the Pack Station will be for 7:00am of Day 1 and most rides start at 7:30am. On the last day of the trip, a van takes you back to the pack station, generally around 4:30pm to 6:00pm.
Because the trip starts in the early morning, we highly recommend you make arrangements for an extra overnight in a local hotel the night before to experience minimum stress when finding the pack station and arriving on time.

Relax and set your own pace. Excellent lake and stream fishing for Golden, Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout, all within easy hiking or riding distance from camp. In addition to the camp cook, there is a wrangler to saddle your personal horse for daily rides. This is a family vacation everyone can enjoy!
Chose where you want to go and how long you would like to stay.

Area 1: Hilton, Little Lakes Valley (Chickenfoot Lake) and Tamarack Basin
First time wilderness riders and families with children enjoy the ride on a scenic, yet gentle trail into Hilton Basin, where there are nine lakes ranging from alpine to the larger lower lakes set in deep forested areas. Tamarack Basin and Little Lakes Valley offer alternating forest and meadows with panoramic views and several lakes, including some where fishing is excellent.

Area 2: Mono Creek
Cross 12,000 ft. Mono Pass to a central camp within easy reach of numerous lakes and streams. Recommended for stays of five or more days.

Note: This tour is operating under permit with the USDA Forest Service through Special Use Permit on the Inyo National Forest.
