Ligurian Alps Adventure
Northern Italy
Italy
Ride along the beautiful Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. This route crosses the Ligurian-Emilian Apennine ridge and is considered to be spectacular from a landscape, wildlife and historical point of view.
Your riding companions are Bardigiana horses, particularly suitable for this type of route. Docile, resistant and generous, these horses, originally from the Tuscan-Ligurian-Emilian Apennines, are ideal for crossing these lands and enjoying the adventure in complete safety.
People who come to this part of the Apennines for the first time are immediately struck by a pure and uncontaminated environment and by the lush woods that cover all the slopes of the surrounding valleys.

Seasons
This region is characterized by a subcontinental climate featuring hot summers and cold and possibly wet winters. The fog and cold that autumn can bring are tempered by decidedly milder temperatures along the coastline owing to the nearby Adriatic Sea. Nonetheless the risk of rainfall remains high in autumn and spring, especially in the upper valleys.
Spring and autumn are the optimal time to fully savor the beauty of the area: they ensure the best weather for a trek in the woods and a great variety of colors, from the contrasts of greens and endless blooms in spring, to the yellows, browns and reds of autumn.
